No one Needs To Like You

No one has to like you.

There's no rhyme nor reason,
Nor shall there be a feesable opinion.
It's simply a truth,
Inevitable and aloof.

No one is required to like you.

Through all our faults and mistakes,
In the depths of all that our humanity appeases and reveals to be,
It's only at our wake,
Shall we truly know what our life could be.

They don't need to like you,

And yet, you are loved all the same.
You're cherished, a person of whom humanity proves to make dear.
And if at death, we find all the answers to our questions left in vain,
It is also when all ends that we lose all that we may, nothing simply mere.

So, must you be so foolish as to throw it all away?
Must you have the need to be who you're not?
A people-pleaser who'll never be anything, but a prey.
A someone- yet a no one all the same, you live to please all but yourself in the lot.

They don't need to like you,
And that's okay.

We'll love you all the same,
our dear little fae.

Also, this poem was inspired by Hopeless Peaches 'Not Everyone Will Like You, And That's Okay' video. I just randomly remembered watching it one day, and something clicked...
