CLARKE POV
This is my last year in college. After this year, I can finally go and do whatever I want. I have the freedom to do any job and keep the money to myself. For the past four years, since I turned 18, I have been staying at a friend's house. Her name's Anya and she became like a sister to me. We grew up together in the orphanage since I was 3 years old. She was 5 at that time. When she was 18, she was able to go work and have her own apartment, she wanted to take me in but she just can't afford to feed two mouths at that time. But for the past few years, I was with her.

This year, I decided that I should try and live in the school dorms. Besides, I have saved up a lot of money for the past years working at the school library and sometimes tutoring some students, and also with Anya's help with paying food and bills. Anya agreed for me to go stay in the dorms since her boyfriend was also moving in the apartment.

- hey kiddo. ready for senior year? - Anya sits in my bed as I finish packing my things

I sit up and look at her - yea, more than ready. I hope I have nice roommates -

- Sorry you're in a four-room dorm. Singles and doubles are too expensive - Anya says sad but I just chuckle at her

- Anya, don't be sorry. You've helped me more than you think you did. And you already insisted on paying my dorms so I am already grateful for that. Less money for me to spend. So thank you. And besides, more friends, right? - I say smiling. She just scoffs at me

- right, friends. I'd give you a week long of groceries when you have friends - Anya shot back and I glare at her.

She's right. I don't usually go and be friends with people. Growing up in an orphanage does that. You just have to keep it to yourself, protect your own. Don't trust people.

I finished packing and went out to the kitchen

I finished packing and went out to the kitchen. Anya and her boyfriend were setting up breakfast and I just smile at how happy the two of them are. I wished to be in their place but Love is Weakness. I can't go through heartbreak, ever again.

The three of us ate breakfast and the two of them drove me to school, since I had no car. They helped me unpack my things and set up my room. I was the first one there since I wanted to avoid awkward welcoming greetings from my roommates if I arrive later than them. If I'm first, I could just stay in my room until the first day of classes.

- are you going to be okay here, kid? - Anya looks at me

I smile at her and nod. - Call us if you need anything okay? I mean it, Clarke, ANYTHING - Anya enunciates the "anything" and I just laugh.

We all bid farewell and I closed the door. Since I was able to buy a little bit of groceries, I went to place it in the kitchen, when I notice, the cupboards and fridge was full. Like literally full. Water, sodas, juice, chips, meat, frozen goods, veggies, you name it, it's all here. I widen my eyes and tried to call "hello" but there was no one but me.
