Long Trip Home

Hobi runs to the only room that has her smell pungent and strong, Jin hot on his heels to open the door for him.

When Hobi enters the room he sees her on the floor, curled in a ball. Only her fur..

Hobi shifts, accepting a jacket from Jin and bending by the fox hybrid.

"Oh Ara.. your fur.." he gently touches the now red and black fur of the fox. "Is this what happens when you lose your platonic soulmate?"

"I don't know.. i guess so since it happened to her" Jin whispers.

"Can you shift, Ara? We need to go" Hobi whispers but she doesn't move, just sighs and wraps her tail around her body.
Hobi looks over at Jin who tries his best to help.

"We have BK's body.. we will give him a proper burial i promise, Ara" Jin whispers. This makes her lift her head up, giving Jin the saddest eyes either have ever seen and it breaks their hearts. 

Jin scoops the fox in his arms and carries her out the door while Taehyung meets them, an arctic white fox in his arms as well.

"Who is this?" Jin raises an eyebrow.

"I don't know. Hobi was helping him so i decided to free him and.. i felt a pull.. this one is stronger than the one i feel for you guys" Tae whispers, cradling the now unconcious fox in his arms.

"Let's just.. get out of here before whomever owns this place comes back"  Hobi shifts again since he's naked and the group walks until they are reunited with the rest.

"Let's get the hell out of here" Namjoon says, while Jungkook carries the cheetah's body.

They all climb into a couple cabs, being careful to conceal the dead body in a bag in the trunk and take the cab clear back home, knowing it'll be expensive but at this rate Jin doesn't care. He's exhausted and grouchy.

"What happened to you? You left after that day" Yoongi question's Tae, who he hailed a cab with Namjoon.

"Ah~ i finally had my 24th birthday" he smiles, but the other two share a knowing look.

"Have you hit your rut yet?"

"No" he frowns. "I didn't expect it to happen directly on my birthday"

"Aish~ i just hope it waits enough to solve one problem at a time" Yoongi mumbles.

"Speaking of ruts" Namjoon looks at Yoongi. "Why did yours happen so early? Don't you guys usually breed around january?"

"Yeah, my pack mates more than that, sometimes.. with me surpressing mine all the time, i guess the adrenaline of that day made it kick in early" Yoongi looks back at his mate. "What about you? Your rut is due literally any day"

"December to march, it can happen any time"

Tae looks between them.

"We have a female with us now.. assuming we all live together  that will be.. interesting"

"Aish~ we're gonna need to move, to make sure she gets her own room" Namjoon scratches his chin as he thinks.  "We can't all fit in a 2 bedriom"

"I still have my dorm, as long as they stay quiet i can have the foxes stay with me until we get living arrangements done" Tae offers, making them look at him again.

"So this means you stay? You join us?" Yoongi looks a bit hopeful.

"I'll.. try it out. I feel the strongest pull for this fox and if he stays with you so do i" Tae looks down at the fox in his lap as if deep in thought.

The others nod and a comfortable silence falls in the cab.

"How is she, hyung?" Jungkook asks Hobi, as he's holding Ara.

"Still the same" Hobi sighs and gently rubs behind Ars's ears. Her only reaction is to slowly blink at him. "Beyongkwan meant alot to her"

"I can't imagine what it's like losing a best friend" Jin whispers quietly. "Let alone your platonic soulmate."

"Yeah" Hobi frowns, running his fingers delicately through Ara's fur.

"How are you doing though, hyung? He was your cousin" Jungkook continues to look at Hobi.

"I'm.. dealing. It hurts of course because i loved him the most of my family, but i'm not hurting anywhere near as much as she is, so i think i can be okay as long as she pulls through"

Jin pulls his phone out, texting quickly onto it for a few minutes before looking up again.

"Tae is gonna take the foxes to his dorm, while the rest of us squeeze into my apartment and figure out living elsewhere now that we are a pack"

"Hobi hyung can have my bed. I can sleep with you hyung, if that's okay?" Jungkook looks over at Jin who nods.

"As long as you don't like.. cuddle too much" he laughs and goes back to texting on his phone before telling the cab driver the new address to stop at.

Finally back in Seoul, in front of Tae's dorm, Tae steps out of the cab with Jimin's fox form in his arms and walks to the cab behind them.

Hobi looks hesitant but walks with him to the front door. After opening the door and depositing Jimin on the bed he comes to the door and gently picks Ara up out of Hobi's arms.

They both frown when she doesn't even fight the movement.

"I'll take care of her hyung, i promise" he whispers, making Hobi nod and slowly walk back to the waiting cab.

Tae closes the door and gently places Ara on the bed beside Jimin, staring at them both.

Ara quickly gets up, jumping off the bed and crawls underneath it.

"Ara.." Tae whispers, crawling on all fours to see her under the bed. She's back to curling in a ball as far under the bed as she can get, her tail curled around her protectively.

Tae sighs and stands back up, walking to his tiny makeshift kitchen and pulls out leftovers, dividing them in 3.

He places Ara's on the floor by the bed and crawls on the bed himself, spent after today's trip.

It took a long 6 hours in the cab to get here. He'd hate to be the one paying the cab fare. How they managed to not smell BK's remains was beyond him. Tae was fine playing a background role this time, only taking out people as they fought against them.

He looks over at the unconscious fox beside him, wondering for what feels like the millionth time why he feels such a pull to this fox.
