"I'm fine," I squeaked in such a high-pitched voice that probably only a dog could hear me. He had already stooped down and was picking up my books and papers, while I stood there like I was practicing to be a tree, rigid and petrified and unable to take my eyes off him. He didn't acknowledge what I said so it was clear he never heard but I was afraid to say it again so I just stood there, taking him in.  It was so mesmerizing the way his hair fell like a curtain around his face and how the muscles along his forearm flexed ever so slightly as he picked up the books. Like why did he did choose to wear that sleeveless top? I groaned inaudibly at my frustration as my mind went a mile a minute and not realizing that he was now standing face to face with me and was trying to get my attention.

"Hey," he said, snapping his fingers loudly causing me to jump slightly and look him in the face-that gorgeous face.

"Yea?" I squeaked.

"Where'd you go?" he asked smiling so sinisterly but his eyes betraying the fact that he was just asking a question with no ill intent, "Been trying to get your focus for like an hour now."

"That is definitely an exaggeration," I said pursing my lips, my voice again at my normal pitch, "besides I was just embarrassed for bumping into you, that's all."

"No harm was done," he replied nonchalantly, "I have a pretty firm body."

"Yes you do," I said before I could stop myself, my eyes growing wide as I heard what I had said, "I mean... umm...you are firm but then I only bumped into your chest but I'm sure the rest of you is just as hard too."

OMG...THAT WAS EVEN WORSE!! You are not saving yourself, Kareem. 'Just shut up!', my brain yelled but my mouth seemed to have been disconnected with the sole intent of digging me deeper and deeper into a hole of embarrassment.

He smirked as he watched me desperately trying to find the right thing to say and then in the sexiest voice I have ever heard in person,  the last thing I thought he would say came out of his mouth, "Wanna touch the rest of me and find out for yourself?"

I'm sure that the shade of red I turned at that point is a colour that not even science has discovered yet. I could feel that my face was so flushed  and hot. He must be joking right?

"I-I-I-I-I-I-I- uhh," I muttered in utter discombobulation and he burst out laughing.

"Just messing with you man," he laughed, "You should see your face bro. I don't think I've ever seen someone blush so deeply. Only other place I've seen that deep shade of red is my Crayola box when I was a kid"

"I am not blushing," I retorted, blushing even harder. 'He sure is a troublemaker,' I thought to myself. 'But a cute troublemaker and who doesn't love cute troublemakers?'

"Right," he chuckled, stretching his hand toward me, "Here's your stuff." He handed me my books.

"Thank you," I said as he continued chuckling and my flushed face slowly returned to normal "You never had to pick them up though."

"Of course I did," he insisted, "Least I could do for nearly knocking you over. Besides, this little talk has been interesting."

Interesting? Danny thinks I'm interesting! Ok maybe not me per se, more like the general conversation but he said that TO me so that counts for something. Right? I'm saying it does. Hehehe.

"You're blushing again," he murmured, cutting off my internal monologue as I retorted half-heartedly that I wasn't. "And as much as I'd like to continue this, I really need to talk the Professor."

He turned to the classroom only to let out an audibly irritated groan. I had been about to leave but I turned too when I heard his groan and saw the desk empty. When did Prof. Harvey leave??? I didn't see him walk by us while Danny smirked and I competed with tomatoes everywhere for world's reddest hue. He had been right there just a second ago. How did a man so stocky move so stealthily?? Danny was rubbing his temples as he turned back to me clearly annoyed by this situation.
