Mil's POV

My blood still boiled from the memory of seeing my Tine standing so close to that man.

I didn't mean to hurt him, I just wanted to put some distance between them and make sure they stayed apart.

But Tine spent all night with him. My skin crawled from imagining what they might be doing and I scratched my arm till blood spilled from it.

I had to find out more about this architect.

I followed Tine cautiously. I had already spotted the enhanced security around him and my nemesis, the Chairman. Extra guards, new cameras covering all previous blind spots, bag and body checks at all entrances.

I waited patiently and bided my time. I felt my heartbeats rise when I saw Tine and three of his subordinates get into an armoured stretch limousine. They were headed somewhere important.

I was surprised to see them turn into the airport arrivals drop-off. Tine and his subordinates got off, alongwith two bodyguards.

He was here to receive someone special. I wondered who it might be.

I found a good spot that let me worship my Tine without anything blocking my view.

The group, who had been milling around listlessly, sprung to attention as passengers from the San Francisco flight started coming out.

I saw a short, thin and wispy looking girl throw herself shamelessly at Tine, who handed her a bunch of yellow roses, the official symbol of the friendzone. He couldn't be bothered to get her red roses.

I hated her immediately.

She accepted them with a simper and waved  at a tall, ape-like man who stood some distance away. Everyone shook hands with him and the girl left with Tine and his group. Gorilla Guy hailed a taxi and went on his way.

The girl jogged something in my memory. I'd seen her before.

I quickly flipped through the folder of Tine's pictures I had started collecting again. I found her in a picture from over a year ago. They stood arm in arm.

Why was she standing so close to my Tine? And what was that ring on her finger? And why did it seem like it matched the one on Tine's hand?

She had to go.

Tine's POV

"I hope you had a comfortable flight, Pear" I said, smiling affectionately at her. It was good to see her again.

"Flight-shmite. Did you get the goodies I asked you to?" demanded Ohm.

Pear laughed and nodded. "The flight was wonderful and yes, Ohm, I've got everything on your list and more."

"Was the flight made wonderful by the presence of a certain part-man, part-mountain who crushed my fingers to a pulp just now?"asked Phuak, massaging his hand.

To my surprise, Pear blushed prettily. "Don't be ridiculous, I barely know Boss."

I knew he seemed vaguely familiar. He was Wat's friend from that night.

"He said his name was Attasaphong. And he flew in Business Class with you. Methinks he's loaded. Is he related to the Attasaphongs of AB Steel and Cement?" asked Detective Fong.

Pear nodded shyly. "He's Uncle Gun's youngest son, but he's not part of the family business.

He founded a start-up a few years ago, and then moved to the US with his co-founders. He explained it to me, but I couldn't quite understand it all. Something to do with cryptocurrency.
