Peppermint

Most important meal of the day.

I wake up to the sound of my tummy rumbling and look at my watch that says 7:00 AM. I put my feet down on the cold floor and look over to see if Emily is there and of course she is not. She probably woke up like a responsible student to get enough time to eat breakfast. Breakfast that sounds good right now. I walked over to the bathroom and turned on the hot shower and jumped in.

I can get ready pretty fast and I only need 20 min for breakfast I thought. I get out of the shower and wash my face and brush my teeth. I look in the mirror and dry hair with a spell and brush it down and keep it nice and loose. I then grabbed some mascara and applied only a little as my eyelashes were already long. Then I brushed over my eyes brows giving them better shape and dried the rest of my body.

I walk back into my room and pick up the school uniform and my jaw drops to the floor. There's no way I was gonna wear this long skirt. I grabbed my wand said a spell to shorten it so it was about 5 inches above my knee instead of below. Not too short to show my behind. but short enough to show my thighs. Since I grew up alone I usually entertain myself by working out it just became a fun thing for me. So my stomach was flat with thighs that fit my body perfectly and my butt has always been big so I never really bothered it, and my chest has just grown with age but they fit my body perfectly.

I slid on the skirt and decided to wear short socks instead of those super long ones and pulled the white button-up shirt over my head leaving a couple of buttons undone at the top not too much just enough to show off the necklace my grandfather gave me when I was smaller. I loosely put the green tie around my shirt and grabbed my wand and my robe putting it on my body but not clipping the front. And started down for breakfast.

as I walked through the common room I noticed it was empty meaning that everyone was probably at breakfast that was until out of the corner of my eye I see bright blonde hair.
"ugh" I groaned a little too loud. right, when I did I saw the blond-headed boy snap his head to look right at me to make our eyes meet. He quickly got up and walked over to me right before I was about to leave he stepped in front of me and just looked into my brown orbs and what surprised me the most was that I didn't say anything I just looked at him back and smiled.

"I think I should properly introduce myself im Malfoy Draco Malfoy," he said holding out his hand.

"right pleasure," I say taking his hand to shake it.

"Are you headed down to breakfast," he asked.

"yes I am" I said

"oh then while may I walk yo-" just qs he was finishing his sentence I hear a loud high pitch scream coming from the stairs.

"DACIEEEEEEE thank you so much for waiting for me baby," a girl with dark black straight short hair said while walking over to Draco and hugging him. But he had a different reaction, he just stood there with an embarrassed? look on his face.

"Hello, I'm Pansy and who might you be," the girl said looking me up and down with a look of disgust.

"Hello I'm Severa Merlin" I snapped

"oh well" her facial expression quickly changed after hearing my last name. "nice to meet you merlin" she continued.

"Wish I could say the same pansy," I said with a smile shoving past Draco and walking out the door hear Draco chuckle and another one of pansy's high screams. as I made my way to the great Hall clearly not looking where I was going I bumped into someone and we both fell on our butts.

"oh my gosh I am so sorry," I say not looking up to see the person who I bumped into was but instead picking up their books for them.

"It's okay Severa" I quickly snapped my head up seeing Harry with a goofy grin on his face.

"oh hello harry, how are you," I say trying to make conversation.

"good now that I have run into you," he said bodily.

"haha well, I'm just off to breakfast," I say trying to leave the awkwardness.

"ah perfect I will walk you," Harry says.

"Okay," I say with a smile.

as we make our way into the hall I see every head turns to look at us then I start to hear whispers from a group of boys. "of course the stupid chosen one got her". I hear as I begin to laugh.

"if you want you can sit with us" Harry offers.

"um," I say looking over at the Slytherin table and not seeing Emily there either. But a certain blond catches my eye but he also has pansy practically on his lap so I quickly look away right when he tries to meet his eyes with mine.

"yea sure," I say to Harry with a smile.

Just then he grabs my hand and for some reason right when he did my eyes shot up to look for Draco to see if he was watching. And oh was he watching he looked upset?. And then is light grey orbs met with mine. So I did what Merlin does in the situation I smiled and winked. And his face quickly went red as he looked away while harry was pulling me to the Gryffindor table.

"I can't believe your a bloody Merlin" Ron said as I sat down between Harry and Hermione.

"neither can I why dint you tell us," Harry asked.

"the same reason you didn't tell me your last name Harry POTTER," I say potter while looking at Ron.

"right I suppose that can get annoying," Harry said back with a smile.

"yes yes it can," I say taking a bite out of a red apple my favorite.

"So what's your first class," Hermione asks looking at me.

"umm," I say pulling out my schedule. "Potions what about you?"

"I have muggle studies first but Harry has potions he can walk you" she says

"yea of course I would love to," Harry said with a light blush.

"yea okay that sounds great-" just as I was about to finish my sentence I heard a loud scoff from behind me. which makes me turn around to see a made Draco and a disgusting pansy looking at me.

"Is there something I can help you with Malfoy?" I spat.

he stopped eating his green apple to say "PFT as if I would ever need a blood traitors help"

"shut it Malfoy," Harry said defending me.

"why what do we have here the famous Harry Potter protecting the pretty girl" he mocked.

I then realize what Draco just said...he thinks I'm pretty.

"wait did you just call me pretty," I said with giggles.

"what no I did not," Draco said fast with a look of disgust on his face.

"Dracie just leave it" I heard Pansy say to him.

"Yea Dracie just leave it," I said in a mocking voice.

"How could I ever thinks someone who looks like you is even close to the word pretty, your honestly bloody hurting my eyes Your parents clearly didn't do a good job," Malfoy said.

I was not going to let stupid Draco Malfoy get to me. I am a bloody Merlin for goodness sake. That was until he mentioned my parents. I couldn't say anything back to him instead I just turned around and looked at my lap wiping a tear that got loose from my eye.

"oh what little Merlin has nothing to say?? Didn't mommy and daddy teach you that's ru-"
then he was interrupted by someone.

"Mr. Malfoy I suggest you stop talking unless you want your wand snapped" the soft yet serious voice said.

I turned around to see Snape. Snape was good friends with my father and was one of my own friends and people to hang out with when I was little. I instantly felt better seeing a face I finally recognize and gave him a small smile which he very suddenly returned. Snape knew all about my parents and probably every single thing about me.

"don't listen to Malfoy he's a twat" Harry said with a concerning look on his face.

"thanks harry wanna head to potions" I asked

"yea sure," Harry said getting up and helping me over the bench. As we made our way to the potions classroom.
