Peppermint

You've done it now.

As I and Nick walked back to the common room we just had light chatter and asked about each other day. when we got to the common room I muddled the password and walked through.

as my eyes wandered the beautiful common room they quickly caught Draco and Pansy snogging on the couch.

"blah get a room," I say loud enough for them to hear as Draco quickly meet his eyes with mine and pushes Pansy off of him.

"like your one to talk," he said which made me stop in my tracks and turn around walked up to him a little too close. Yes, he towered over me but that doesn't mean I was afraid of him.

"excuse me," I say with sass.

" you heard me, Merlin you and Potter were practically all over each other during potions," he said with anger and disgust.

"that's completely untrue but glad to know you were looking at me, love" I winked and had to stop me from laughing at the look on his face as I walked upstairs to get a book and drop off my school bag.

I get to my dorm and open the door that's when I see Emily sitting on her bed writing a letter.

"oh hey how are you," i say greeting her with a smile.

"I'm good and you" she responds

"good," i say grabbing my favorite poetry book "milk and honey by rupi kaur". while also taking off my robes leaving in just my black skirt and white top and tie.

I made my way down to the common room and in my luck pansy was gone but Draco was still there laying on the couch taking up the whole thing covered by a dark green blanket without his robes and just black long pants and dark green sweater with his white shirt under. He was deep into a book he didn't even notice me walk in until i cleared my voice then i saw him look up and move his feet for me to sit. i sat down on the same couch as him and started opening my book to read it.

About 10 minutes passed by and then i got shivers, cause of how cold it was down here. Draco noticed my shivering and spread the blanket out over both our body's so both our legs were covered but we still were leaning on the different aide arm rests of the couch. I thought the gesture was kind so i looked up at him and smiled.

"is that even a real book," he said with a smile a real genuine smile.

"um yes of course it is it's poetry" i say.

"sounds dumb"  he snarks

"it is not dumb it's amazing" i respond.

"is that why you have been smiling about those stupid pages this whole time" he asks

"yes cause it's amazing like i said"

"prove it"

"what"

"prove that it's good read me something" he stated.

"oh okay," i said flipping through the pages to find my favorite one. "here this one " you look at me and cry everything hurts I hold you and whisper but everything can heal" i read softly while looking up at Draco.

I get lost in his eyes and start to think about all the things i have lost in my life and how a lot of the time everything does hurt and how i have no one in the world who would ever whisper in my ear those words. "everything can heal" tear streams down my face then what i would never expect Draco leaned over and cupped my cheek with his hand and wiped my tear with his thumb as we continued to get lost in each other's eyes.

"I'm sorry for what i said about your parents and everything else," he said softly taking his hand away from my cheek.

"oh yea it's okay," i say in a shy voice.

"no it's not Severa and you are not ugly at all"
he says in a serious tone.

"thank you Draco," i say while putting my hand on his.

"So what's it like being a Merlin," he asks smiling.

"Oh it's cool i guess i mean kind of lonely just me and my Grandfather" i say looking away

"you Do you have any siblings?" he responds

"nope," i say not hiding my disappointment.

"Me neither, and yea it definitely gets lonely," he says surprising me we have something in common.

"So what about your parents? are they nice" i continue.

"My mum yea but I'm not really one to show emotion thanks to my father," he says the last part quietly.

I found myself enjoying his company while we continued to talk and getting to know each other.

"im guessing you have a big house," i say with a smile as he smiles back at me and nods.

" i mean i bet you don't have a pool," I say all proud.

And Of course Draco lets out a huge laugh "Of course i have a bloody pool please i bet you don't have a library" he says still giggling

"You have a library?!?!" i say in awe as he continues to smile at me i place my hand on his.

He looks down at his hand being touched by mine and then gets up without saying anything and leave the common room. So i decided i would head out to lunch then.

Draco POV

as I exit the common room I could feel my cheeks getting warm. oh hell no Draco Malfoy will not blush. but how can I know she looked so admirable while reading her book i didn't even continue reading mine right when she walked in i was distracted. And I can't believe I even apologized that's not me. but I just felt like I trusted her and I instantly just wanted to know her and right when I started asking questions about her life at home and her family I found myself trying to find all the similarities between us even opening up to her about my parents and my lonely childhood I've never done that, but why with her why with this girl everything is different. i have to get this out of my head. Where the hell is Pansy when you need her.

I started my way walking into the great hall for lunch when someone bumped into me right at the entrance.

"Ewww don't touch me filthy blood traitor Potter," i said in pure disgust.

"shut up Malfoy and while you at it don't speak a word to Sev ever again," He said to me right when i herd her name anger flooded over me why on earth is he calling her sev it should be Merlin to him. and then i felt the hard feeling in my chest.

"and who are you to go around saying who can and can't talk to the girl," i say at him.

"I am someone who is closer to her than you will ever be" he spat at me. and that was it i don't know what came over me but i pulled out my wand and pointed it at him. i quickly said a disarmaming spell but he dodged it and that's when I saw a bunch of water started flowing out of Potter's wand i jumped out of the way and watched the water hot someone who was just turning the corner...Severa Merlin.

"SERIOUSLY HARRY" she yelled looking down at her white shirt that was now soaked making it see threw and of course she was wearing a dark green bra i chuckled to myself then realizing all the boy's eyes were on her. I hated the way they were looking at her it made my blood boil so i quickly Took off my green sweatshirt and covered her with it. she looked up at me surprised but still took it and put it on. Then her eyes trailed over to harry with an angry look on her face.

"oh Harry Potter you've done it now," i say with pride.

"Severa Severa I'm so so so sorry i meant to hit him i swea-" harry gets cut off by Sev's scoff.

"well clearly your aim sucks Potter" she spat well walking away from us to the Slytherin table. and i couldn't help but smile at how cute she looked in my sweatshirt. Everyone resumed eating and talking amongst each other.

"cmon Potter you really have to throw water at a girl now are you that desperate for a peep show?." I said walking away towards my table.
