(Y/n) and Dazai walked into the agency the next morning, (Y/n) having already changed out of the outfit she had been provided by Chuuya. But rather than going back to her usual attire (the rain jacket with a black shirt, shorts, and the boots), she decided to wear a pair of leggings with a gray crewneck sweatshirt with a pair of sneakers. She had her hair tied into a ponytail, pulled away from her face as she walked behind Dazai into the agency.

Kunikida, who was working at his desk on his laptop, continued to stare down at his work as they opened the door. He began to greet them, "Good morning, Dazai. Glad to see you could finally join us."

"Nice to see you too, Kunikida," (Y/n) retorted, crossing her arms as the duffle bag she had over her shoulder shifted around. "Way to greet your coworker in the morning." She stuck her thumb up. "A+."

Kunikida looked up from his lap top, his mouth hanging open as he stared at her. He had a look of almost pure shock, standing up as he was finally able to see her after everything that had occurred—including the fight they had and the rather unfortunate effects of whatever happened after the case.

"You..." he began, walking over to her as he stood in front of her, Dazai slightly behind him. "You're back. Where did you go? What happened?"

"Fujinuma kidnapped me," she responded. "But then a couple other things happened." She rubbed the back of her neck, looking down at the ground as she recollected the events that had occurred over the past couple of days. "It's a long story."

"We don't have any cases right now," he told her, (Y/n) looking back up at him. "We've got time."

Dazai chuckled, walking over to his desk as he kept his hands in his pockets. "That's funny. I think you mean that you have time. I already know what happened."

Kunikida quirked an eyebrow, looking between Dazai and (Y/n) as he grew more confused. (Y/n) gestured to the chair, telling him, "You might want to sit down for this. It gets a little complicated."

Kunikida stared at her, his mouth hanging open after hearing all the events that had occurred. Starting from the moment Fujinuma had taken her, to when Chuuya rescued her from his torture, to Dazai finding her and taking her back home. (Y/n) didn't leave a single detail out of the story—except the part where she and Dazai kissed. That might've been the right thing to leave out of the story.

"You've been through so much," he stated after she finished. "Are you sure you're okay? That kind of stuff doesn't just go away in a couple hours."

"I'm fine, Kunikida," she reassured him, offering a small smile afterward. "It may take a bit to process everything, but it'll all be okay in the end. I'm quite sure of it."

Kunikida pushed up his glasses, leaning back in his seat. He then told her, "I believe I also owe you an apology."

"Oh?" (Y/n) tilted her head slightly at the sudden change in pace, shifting from the rather dark story to a more down-to-earth pace. "What for?"
