New Feelings

Chapter 5

Naruto's POV

Ino has set me up on some sort of date tonight, I was really hoping to relax but sadly, I've gotta move on from Sakura. I got ready fairly quickly and nervously sat around for an hour until I was supposed to leave.

I left the house and made my way to the place Ino said to go to. I finally got there and it was small restaurant but it smelt amazing, I saw Ino outside waiting.

"Naruto over here!" Ino yelled and motioned to come over.

"Hey Ino, where's my date?" I asked her.

"She's inside, you're at table seven tell them you've been checked in by someone else." Ino said.

"Alright thanks." I said.

"Please don't disappoint her." Ino said. I nodded and walked in.

Table seven was at the corner of the room, it was covered by a plant wall so it was pretty secluded. I made my way over.

Sakura's POV

I tapped the table nervously, Ino helped me get properly dressed up. I was wearing a kind of tight red dress, it brought out my hips a bit. It also had a beautiful white flower pattern on the upper right chest. Ino put a little blush on my face as well, she never thought I needed makeup.

"Sakura?" A familiar blonde said.

"H-Hi Naruto." I said nervously.

"This must be the wrong table." He said, he tried to walk away but I grabbed his wrist.

"I-It isn't, Ino set this up." I said to him.

Naruto chucked nervously and sat down across from me at the booth.

"S-So, is there a reason for this Sakura?" Naruto said, he had a light blush on his whiskered cheeks.

I nodded.

"W-What's the reason?" Naruto asked.

It was quiet for a minute.

"Y-You could say I l-like you." Naruto went wide-eyed and gasped.

"Is this a joke?" Naruto said.

I shook my head.

We sat in silence until the waitress came over.

"What would you lovely people like?" She said, she stared at Naruto for a little longer than she should've.

"I'll just get some sushi and a green tea please." I said.

"Do you guys do ramen?" Naruto said.

"Yes we do, would you like that?" The waitress said.

"Yes please, and I'll also grab a green tea please." Naruto said.

The waitress walked off.

"Sorry if I'm a bit awkward, I'm just nervous." I said.

"Don't worry about it." Naruto gave me a toothy smile.

Our food and tea's arrived five minutes later. Naruto instantly dug in.

Naruto's POV

Sakura kept staring at me the whole night, it wasn't uninvited though.

"Naruto." Sakura said softly. I looked up at her, her cheeks were redder then her makeup.

"T-Thank you, for giving me a chance. I know in the past I turned you down a lot but I'm glad you don't hold it against me." Sakura said. I got up and sat next to her.

"I could never hold a grudge against you." I said, my hands had found my way to hers.

Then we kissed, her soft lips met mine. They tasted like cherries.

We broke off the kiss and hugged each other, her hand was playing with the back of my hair. Her natural smell was cherry blossoms, which has become one of my favourite smells other than ramen of course.

We ordered dessert, while we waited Sakura rested her head on my shoulder.

"Here you guys go." The waiter placed two plates of cake in front of us.

We finished our dessert, I paid the bill and we left. I wanted to take Sakura to my favourite spot so I did just that, she kept asking where we were going but I kept telling her to keep her eyes closed.

"Alright you can open your eyes."

Sakura's POV

I opened my eyes and was met by beauty.

The moon was at full brightness tonight, it illuminated the pond in front of us. Either side were cherry blossom trees, Naruto must like it because it reminds him of me. I looked up at Naruto next to me, his eyes glistened in the moonlight.

We laid down on the grass and looked up at the night sky, it was full of stars tonight. Naruto sure knew how to be romantic.

Overtime I found myself snuggled up next to Naruto, my head resting on his chest. We sat like this for ages just staring at the stars and him playing with my hair.

"It's getting late." Naruto said.

"I should take you home." Naruto said.

I looked up at him and shook my head.

"I'll stay the night at yours." I said to him, he blushed a little.

The walk back was nice, the air was cool but not cold. We held hands all the way back to his apartment, he was nervous because I could feel him shaking a little.

"Thank you for tonight Naruto." I said as we walked into his apartment.

"Sorry that it was a little boring." Naruto said rubbing the back of his head.

"It was not boring. That place you took me to was amazing and I had fun." I said to him.

I walked up to him and hugged him, I miss the days when I was taller than him.

Naruto hopped into the shower leaving me alone in the kitchen/lounge room area. My cheeks hurt from all the smiling I've been doing this evening.

Naruto's POV

Truth is I had a shower to think, I showered before I went out. I had to think about everything that has happened today. I didn't realise how long I was in there until Sakura knocked on the door.

"Naruto, you've been in there for an hour." She said worried.

"Crap I didn't realise." I said.

I turned the shower off and grabbed my towel, I quickly dried myself but not completely. I opened the door and found Sakura sitting against the hallway wall.

"What're you doing down there?" I asked.

"Oh sorry, just a bit tired." She looked up to me and blushed, I only had a towel around my waist.

"I'll grab my clothes from my room and you can take the bed, I'll sleep on the couch." I said.

"No you won't, you'll be sleeping with me. I don't want to kick you out of bed." Sakura said.

"Wha-" Sakura put her hand over my mouth and gave me one of her serious looks.

I hurried to my bedroom and got changed, I stepped out into the hallway and signalled for Sakura to come in.

"You can't sleep in that dress." I said.

"Do you have a shirt?" She asked.

"Yeah." I went over to the wardrobe and found one of my bigger shirts and tossed it to her. She walked out into the hallway and closed the door. She came back thirty seconds later with the shirt on and her undershorts.

"Quit staring you perv." She said softly.

"S-Sorry Sakura-chan you're just really pretty no matter what you wear." I said, Sakura went red and buried her face into one of the pillows on the bed. I joined her on the bed.

After a few minutes Sakura got cozy and snuggled up next to me, it was really adorable.
