Yule Ball
Christmas Day

It was finally day for the long awaited Yule Ball.
The first task of the Tri-wizard tournament was over, Cedric and Harry did well as expected and they were now preparing for the second.
The fragrance of rose perfume filled the room. Hannah and Susan were already in their matching dresses; Heart shape neckline with balloon sleeves, Hannah was in blue while Susan was in purple. Susan was busy braiding Hannah's hair while Hannah was applying makeup.

It was my first time attending a ball and i was really nervous. A few guys had asked me, but i turned them down nicely. They weren't the ones i wanted to go with, Draco was but he was already going with someone else. Don't get me wrong, i was honored that they wanted to go with me but it just felt wrong. I didn't want to go with them while i was thinking about Draco. It just wasn't fair to them. George had asked me one day after school to go with him to the dance, he gave me a puppy face. I took awhile to answer but agreed eventually. We were bestfriends and i just couldn't say no to him. I spent my weekends practicing dance with Cedric, who had asked Cho to the dance. Harry had also asked me after he was turned down by Cho but i had already said yes to George.

I sat down in front of the vanity table, not knowing what to do or where to begin. Hannah and Susan were almost done and i hadn't even started. I looked ugly compared to them who were glowing like fairies. I started by curling my waist length hair slightly at the bottom and putting it up into a half up half down hair do with a yellow ribbon.
I skipped the powder and applied blush to my porcelain skin and drew a tiny wing to the end of my eyes with eyeliner before applying pink eyeshadow and red lip tint.
I slipped into the dress i had bought when i went shopping with Hermione and Ginny at Hogsmeade. They had said that it was me if i were a dress.
It was yellow, V-neck and sleeveless. The bottom of the dress had layers of tulle with flowers running down from the top. I looked down at my necklace, it matched the green of the flowers.
