Christmas
[Elizabeth]
It was my first Christmas at Hogwarts, my parents had told me that a friend of theirs had sadly passed away and they would be attending his funeral over the holidays but didn't want me to come because they still wanted me to celebrate Christmas without them. I was slightly disappointed but there's always next year, besides i've always been curious about how Christmas was like in Hogwarts.
Draco was a sweetheart, offering to accompany me in spending Christmas at Hogwarts. It wasn't really an offer, he insisted."It's so quiet in Hogwarts during the holidays." I whispered to Draco, afraid to break the tranquility as we held hands walking down the hallway towards the Great hall for breakfast. We watched as the snow fell gently outside the frosted glass windows. Most of the students and professors had already taken the train back home earlier this morning, leaving only a few people who had no where else to go behind. Even Harry had gone to the Burrow to celebrate Christmas with the Weasleys.

I wasn't going to let her spend Christmas alone, so i told mother that staying at Hogwarts to catch up with school work as i'm falling behind. Being the intelligent woman she was, she figured that i had taken a liking to someone and was delighted, sending me galleons to buy something nice for her.
We walked into the Great hall, the usual crowded room was reduced to at most twenty people. Three tables had been removed, leaving only one in the center since there was no need for so many. I suppose this was Dumbledore's plan to help us bond. I ignored the stares and whispers directed at me, probably wondering if Beth and i were a thing or why i would be staying over for Christmas.
I sat next to Beth, as the entire table looked at me with surprise. I was surprised too at myself for sitting with a bunch of half-bloods and muggleborns. Beth seemed right at home, smiling and laughing as she piled waffles onto her plate. She listened attentively to their stories, sharing hers enthusiastically as well and thats what stopped me from getting up and leaving even though it was rather uncomfortable for me.
Thankfully, breakfast ended quickly, and the students wandered back to their common rooms, bellies full and cheeks flushed. My heart felt much lighter. I returned to the Slytherin common room, i was the only one in Slytherin left so the entire room was left to me.
The door knocked and i knew that it was Beth by how she knocked, three times and then one. I opened the door to reveal Beth with a wrapped present in her hand."Present time !" She said twirling into the room, i couldn't help but smile at her goofiness.
"Happy Christmas, Draco" She said handing me the present and i reached out to underneath the shelf, where i kept hers.
"Happy Christmas, Beth" I said as we unwrapped our present together.Beth held out the yellow sweater with a giant E on it that i had knitted for her over the past few months. She looked up at me with an expression i couldn't read but it was probably her 'i hate it' face.
I tore the wrapping paper open and there was a green knitted sweater with a giant D folded neatly inside. We looked at each other for a moment with the same unreadable expression on our faces before bursting into laughter, it was hysterical."Oh, i love it Beth. Thank you." I said while wiping the tears that were beginning to form in my eyes from laughing to hard.
"I love mine too, Draco." She said, giving me a peck on my lips. "And i love you".How did i get so lucky.
