A week or so later Eli and Vendetta were I suppose you could say working undercover though the person they were looking for already knew them they were in their motel room and Vendetta had just hung up the phone and was now sitting on the end of the bed arms at her sides, hands laying flat on the bed, head down and feet swinging slowly back and forth Eli walks in after buying some groceries from the store down the street seeing her sitting in that position with a sad look in her eyes he sets down the bags he was carrying walks over and sits beside her "I just got off the phone with ma's doctor.... it doesn't sound good! she's getting worse not better!.... he's guessing she's got a month.... maybe two left.... I.... I was....!"  she says then she shakes her head and says "nevermind!.... it's nothing!.... just a thought!.... that's all!.... it isn't important!"  he looks at her confused she turns to him and asks somewhat nervously "Eli.... would you ever consider....!?!.... I mean....! that is....! I've never been one to imagine! but I'm pretty sure she has!.... she was so happy to see you in your cap and gown walking up there.... and now she might not....!"  she picks up a little box that was set on the bed next to her and asks "will you marry me!?!.... am I....!?!"  he takes the box out of her hand and opens it his eyes widen in surprise as he asks "how long have you....!?!"  she shrugs then replies "since ma got sick.... I know I switched our rolls but....!"   he kisses her so passionately that they fall backwards on the bed then he leans back looks into her eyes and says "V!.... I....!"  he stops speaking and continues kissing her like he would never be able to stop "so is that a no!?!"  she asks and he laughs shaking his head and goes back to kissing her whispering "yes! oh GOD yes!!"  over and over as he kissed and made love to her.... the next day he goes to visit his grandmother to tell her the news and of course she was overly ecstatic.... really REALLY excited about it.... his grandmother gave him her ring which has been passed down for many years in his family to give to Vendetta.... Eli and Vendetta decided to get married on his grandma's birthday which was a few weeks away.... Eli and Vendetta worked on trying to find Thumper though Vendetta believed that they would never find him...."he was put in there by the Fitzpatricks.... Eli would never do that Lamb! it's not how he "works".... but if you step on Liam's toes enough times he would.... besides from what I understand his cousin Danny worked at the Stadium before...."  Vendetta says to Lamb in his office then she adds "I understand that Eli has a record.... but he isn't a killer! but then again you always were a fool!"  she gets up out of her chair then walks out of his office and out of the station where Eli waited for her with Angel who brought his car so that they could drive home.... on the day of their wedding Veronica and Mac played maid of honor for Vendetta Angel played best man for Eli and Keith walked Vendetta down the aisle.... "I know not your "first choice" but your "best" and "ONLY" choice for your favorite niece when it come to "who will marry her" huh!?!"  she teases and Keith chuckles "he treats you well and really loves you"  Keith replies "or he wouldn't be marrying me.... yes I know I know!"  she teases he chuckles shaking his head with a smile.... as she was getting into her wedding dress memories of her past played in her head.... she has no idea how and/or why they started but I suppose it's as good a time to reflect as any.... right!?!.... make sure your "marrying the right man for the right reasons".... this particular memory that was playing through her head was the night two of his boys raided the Sack-n-Pac on her second night of "just out of prison" blues.... Eli had somehow found out where she lived and drove up to her apartment building he looked her up and down as he approached and asks with a harsh angry tone "so what sort of deal did you make with my boys!?!"  she replies with a shrug "that they would either pay for the 40's they attempted to steal or the store owners liquor license for the next 4 to 6 years.... that's how many they stole right!?!"  he asks "and you think we got that kinda money!?!"  she steps closer to him almost getting in his face and says "you think I care!?! I don't OWE you or your idiots anything Mr Navarro! now if you'll excuse me I have school in the morning and I'd like to get some sleep!"  she walks away and over to her apartment he watches her then shakes his head with a corner smile and a scoff.... though he did his best to ignore the complete hard-on he gained not only from how she looked but how she spoke to him and the fact that she showed that she in no way feared him.... then climbs back on his bike and drives off....
