THERE WAS SOMETHING IN THE AIR THAT NIGHT.
Threats were lurking in the dark, in the comfort of their own home. They had no idea what was here and neither did Lucifer. She had been busy packing up the remains of her past life as she prepared herself to leave it all behind. After today, she will never step out of the shadows and show her face around here again. — She was leaving 'Zero' and all of that came with it.
And that meant the people too.
The redhead let out a sigh, swinging her bag over her shoulder as she opened her bedroom door ready to step out but paused at the person standing in front of her. "Diego," She whispered his name, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as his fist was raised in the air. He stumbled to regain his composure after practically being prevented from knocking on her door like the tons of scenarios he imagined in his head.
But before he could open his mouth to say anything, his line of sight caught two armed people down the hall in masks staring back at him.
Lucifer softly gasped when he barged in and pressed himself on to her against the wall but the sound of gunfire ruined the bliss of the moment. "You idiot, you lured them to my room!" She scolded him with a slap to the side of his head.
Diego scoffed as he grabbed her hand and yanked her outside, trying to lead her to somewhere safer.
Lucifer yelped in surprise when the shooting started getting closer as they quickly ran down the hall, managing to hide behind some furniture just in time. And she didn't miss the way Diego was looking at his father's portrait that now had holes blowed in.
