Sea Bound

Chapter 1

-Ten Years Later-

Mara's P.O.V

I sit by the ropes, remembering the childhood friend I used to visit here, The salty air blows me back to reality, Today in mere hours I become an adult, I have to cross the rope bridge to Eos.

I head back to town putting my thoughts of Arin to rest. When I reach town the ceremony is about to begin, The orphaned children who had reached the age of seventeen had to cross the bridge from Atlas over to Eos and the same would happen to the orphans of Eos who reached seventeen. I stand among the nine heading to Eos.

Storm clouds had began to come in from the east turning the sky a Foreboding grey, By the time we reached the bridge the wind had started whipping the palm trees and the rope bridge was harshly swaying from side to side, in my mind we still had to cross, The others in the group had decided against crossing for fear of falling in and angering the Ogyians, I was determined to cross and with that I began my trek across the rope bridge. I was half way across the rope bridge when a large gust of wind blew me off the bridge, I had managed to hold on to the rope side rails, I try to advance across when my fingers slip and nearly loose my grasp on the rope, I struggle to move across and manage to make some advancement across but I lost my grip again and fell into the violent tides below.

As I fell into the water all I could really think was that this was really it for everyone, I crashed into the cold water below and started to sink, Before I completely blacked out I saw something swimming towards me.

The next morning I awoke in a strange place, I was laying in what looked like a giant clam shell with pillows filling it to the brim and I was laying in the middle with a silky light pink blanket draped over me. The room was a small cave, to the far right of the bed there was a small table and chairs with a small bowl of fruits on it, To the left there where two doors, and on the other side of the cave was a pool of water with a small rock island in the center.

I headed over to the table, I was feeling quite peckish, Before I reached the table I caught a glimpse of movement in the water, I head over to the water for a closer look.

When I reached the edge of the crystalline water saw near the rock island a face just peaking out from behind the rock island.

I try to get a better look at the person but they just hide further behind the rock.

"Hi" I call out to them

They hid further behind the rock till I couldn't see them anymore, I decided to go back over to the table and eat something.

When I got to the table there was a note next to the bowl of fruit that said: 'The fruit is yours, eat as much as you want.', I ate two pieces of fruit and decided to check out the two doors, I head to the doors and open the one to the left inside was a privy, the room on the right was a changing room with a closet  on the other side of it, I walk in and look in the closet to see if I can get something else to wear, inside the closet was a simple white dress with a note attached this one said: 'Here's something for you to change into after that dive you took', I close the door of the changing room and changed into the white dress, it was loose but comfortable.

When I walked out I headed back to the waters edge and saw that they where back, this time I waved at them instead of speaking, they surprisingly waved back.

they came from behind the rock a bit and there where to things I noticed the person was a man and he was an Ogyian.

"H-hello" he said shyly, the words echoing off the cave walls.

"hello there" I say

"U-um, do you happen to be Mara?" he asked

"Arin?" I asked

"Mara" he said with a smile

I smiled back happy to see an old friend again, He swam  over to shore and I saw his tail, it was  a beautiful  royal violet speckled with fuchsia and gold.

"it's good to see you again Mara" Arin says
