Paige walked towards the library to finally work on her project with Toby. She dragged her feet across the floor, her muscles aching from the rigorous practice she came from. After 5 minutes of treading, she finally reached the library's double doors. Looking at the clock above her, she pondered about whether she should just go in or leave before he saw her. It's already 7 o' clock. I'm tired and I'll just tell the guy that coach gave us some extra laps to do. She thought to herself. She turned around ready to go back to her car, when a firm hand grabbed her shoulder.
"And where do you think you're going?" The owner of the hand asked.
"What did I say about your hands being on me?" Paige questioned, still standing with her back to him.
"Last time I checked, my hand is on you, not my hands,",he said with a smirk.
"Unless you want to lose that hand, I suggest you take it off me." She said, turning to stand face to face wih Toby McGuire.
"Please, stop being so dramatic and let's get started. The earlier we get started, the earlier we can leave." He said, while sitting in a library chair.
Paige followed, knowing she had nothing else to say. The duo sat in silence, looking at everything except each other.
"I've never noticed how clean the tables are." Toby stated, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.
"Oh! So now you want to talk?"
"What are you talking about?" Toby replied, with confusion all over it.
"During school, you want to stay all quiet and lonely, but now you want to start up a conversation with me? You see, I don't like you and you don't like me, so why don't I get one of my minions to do it for us, so I can go see Sean and you can get back to... whatever it is you do with your life."
"Next time you go to your hair dresser, tell her not to add so much dye to those roots."
"What are you implying?" Paige questioned arising from her seat. She wanted to feel taller than her subject, since she is queen.
"That you can be a complete idiot, sometimes. I'm only talking to you because we have a project together. And why would I talk to you or anyone in this school?!? You're all just gossiping, two faced sluts!" He argued, looking down at Paige.
"And you're a judgmental little a-hole. You don't even make an effort to try and get to know anyone and you just assume we're sluts."
"I don't have to get to know any of you! I have know most of you guys since 5th grade!! I've seen what you've become and what this school turns people into and if I have to seem like an "emo" then so be it!" He said standing also, staring deeply into her eyes.
Paige almost fell back into her seat because of Toby's intense glare and 5"10 height while she stood at 5"4, but the queen never backs down and must always fight her battles.
"Don't you know what a monarchy is?" Paige asked.
"What the he-
"Well, that's what Rumor Academy is. I'm the queen, Sean's the king and you are either a peasant or a minion and anyone who gets in my way, will be condemn to damnation. It's as simple and easy as that." Paige said, with a smile that could kill.
"I'm sorry your highness," he replied sarcastically, "But last time I checked Arielle hasn't exactly been damned." he mocked with a smirk.
"She will be dealt with in time." Paige's temperature started to rise as she felt herself getting angry at the thought of Arielle.
"Queen Arielle, maybe that does have a nice ring to it." He stated, knowing just how to push Paige's buttons. He didn't mind the "damnation" she could probably cook up for him, because seeing Paige's expression was well worth it. "You know, maybe it's time for a new queen at this school. She could shake things up a bit and probably treat her "peasants" differently. Why do you think she's so popular already, Paige? It's time for some change. Just step down, Paige."
