I pull my hair up in a ponytail and start eating my salad "why don't you eat something good like steak?" Kai asks
"Because the salad is probably the only real food here" I mutter and check around the room
"Calm down, he left already" Corey whispers in my ear. I nod and see Jack tense up
"I'm going to go outside and get some fresh air" I say standing up and throw out my food, heading out to the woods. I sit down on a rock, breathing in and out. In and out... I repeat over and over in my head till it becomes a habit again
"Good to see you again Tia" he holds onto my name like a prized possession that could be taken away in a second
"Back for more questions I presume?" I say turning my voice modifier on yet again.
"No actually I was wondering if you would like to go to the annual masquerade ball with me, I know this is sudden but I would like to get to know you better"
"I'll have to think about your request, meet me here tonight at 9pm" I get up and walk inside. I hope this buys me time to think of what to do..
"Tia!" Ian runs up and catches his breath "Jack is looking for you by the archery area" I nod and walk over t or d Jack
"You're looking for me?" He nods
"I was wondering, um if you, would...*sigh* teach me to shoot an arrow" I smile and nod
"Of course!" I grab a bow and draw back an arrow "first after you draw back, you make sure your hand is under the arrow or else you'll take your hand off. Then use your eye to position the arrows path, finally take a deep breath and release" I release the arrow and sink it right in the bullseye.
"Wow" he breaths "that was amazing" I smile
"Your turn" I place the bow in his hand and watch him load an arrow with his shaking hand "hey relax, pull back to your cheek" I move jacks arms up and steady his wrist "now breath and release" he does as he's told and almost hits the bulleye "see? Not so hard" he nods and puts the bow down "I have to go think something out but I'lol catch you later,ok?"
"Ok" I walk to my room and fall on my bed, my hair falls back above my head
"How am I supposed to tell the most powerful man in the world that I can't go to the masquerade ball with him without looking suspicious?" I sigh "this is going to be hard" a note slips under my door. I walk over and pick it up. Walking back over to my bed i open the note which is typed and read,
-Dear Tia, I know your secret. Meet me in the woods in 15 minutes or I will tell everyone and turn you in.
