Ran's POV

“We hope you enjoyed our concert!” I shouted to the crowd, which erupted into applause. Our band performed the same as always, and I’m proud of them.
I noticed even Tsugu is improving, which is wonderful.

We all stepped offstage and we all congratulated each other with fist bumps and hugs.
“Great job, all!” Tomoe exclaimed.

Our break didn’t last long, because I turned to my side to face… Roselia.

“Mitake-san…” one girl stared directly at me with her golden, sharp eyes.
It’s Minato Yukina, their leader. You could say that we’re rivals, her and I.

“Minato-san…” I gave a similar response.

It became tense all of the sudden. No one really said anything for a while.

Finally, Himari jumped up to break the silence.
“Who’s up for ice cream?”

We all scoffed and relaxed while Roselia continued to the stage.
“Good luck,” I told them.

Minato-san turned around and gave a smile.
“Thanks,” she said, before going away. Imai-san also gave us a wave as she followed closely behind her.

“So, no ice cream?” Himari asked.

“Not now, Himari,” Tsugu replied. “It’s getting late, and I’m beat. I’m sure you guys are too.”

We all gave a collective yawn, signaling to everyone how tired we were.
“Very tired,” Moca added, before patting me on the back.

I ignored it as I started walking to the exit of Live House CiRCLE.
“Let’s wrap it up for the day.”

The rest of them nodded and we went to the entrance, where Marina-san usually is.

As usual, she was there, but she was talking to a strange girl who I don’t recall ever meeting. She appeared to be holding some sort of guitar. I couldn’t get a close enough look.

She had shoulder-length, light-pink hair. I couldn’t see how she looked from the front.
But just as I was thinking about that, she turned to us and quickly hid her face with her hands and scurried off in a rush outside, then made a mad dash somewhere.

How… strange. What’s her deal?

“Uhh, who was that?” Tomoe asked Marina-san.

“Who?” Marina-san replied. “Oh, that girl? Uhh, umm… A fan of… me. She adores the work I do at CiRCLE.”

She’s lying! I mean, we all appreciate Marina-san’s hard work, but… why would she be so shy of us?

I shook my head. Whatever. It’s nothing important, I guess. Just don’t acknowledge it, and we should be fine.

“Which reminds me,” Marina-san suddenly said. “Mitake-san, someone left something in the practice room over there for you.”

“For me?” I said aloud. “Guys, you can all go home without me. I’m not sure how long I’ll be.”

“All right,” Tsugu said. “I’m pretty tired. Maybe I’ll ask Chisato-san to take us home in her Cresta.”

“I wanna buy a soda pop at the vending machine,” said Moca.

Laughing to myself, I made my way to the practice room. What could it be?

I gently opened the door.
“Hello--?” I called, to ensure no one was there.

But no one was there. I even checked the corners of the room to be sure.

The room was dark, so nobody really could be here.
Not that I was expecting anything, but I did notice something on the table to the side of the door.
A bass guitar, all alone.
