The next morning, I walked to the bus stop and I was disappointed when I didn't see Aspen. I was starting to regret missing basketball practice. I didn't have to go play, it's not like our school had a basketball team, but I really loved it. My regret disappeared when the bus arrived at the next stop and I saw her. She got on and walked to the back. The bus was crowded from the morning rush and we were both standing. I stood behind her as she faced the front, not noticing me.

"Avoiding me?" I whispered in her ears. She jumped a little.
"Woah, you scared me. What are you doing here?" She turned around.
"I'm going to school, just like you." I knew that's not what she meant.
"I know but like you don't take the bus in the mornings."
"I decided I needed a change. I think I'm gonna practice after school from now on." I lied.
"Why?" she turned red.
"Well, you see, it's hard getting up early and then using so much of my energy to just play basketball," I lied again, I loved playing in the morning to get my body awake for the day. "And I don't see you anymore after school so I thought I could see you more if I took the bus in the morning." I finally told her the real reason.
"Well, I decided that I'm gonna start taking the bus again after school and start walking in the morning. So there was no point of you doing that," She smirked. She was back to her old self which was nice.
"Geez, woman, now I have to take the bus after school then, just for you." I replied and she smiled. I haven't seen her smile after the soccer game last week and it feels like ages. I missed her.

We walked towards the school, passing the basketball court, when Steven, one of the guys that I play with, yelled out to join him. I didn't want to leave Aspen but she gestured that she was okay with it. So I left.
