"Alright I think I'm all set for this," Shinn said cleaning Flameclaw as he was about to leave the Inn he temporarily stayed in but he felt the [Magi's Companion] Rune on his right hand to begin glowing, he quietly chuckled to himself and leaned on a nearby wall.
"Crap I better not let her know," Shinn smiled to himself and answered. "You better not be off doing something stupid." Those were the first words that Hanamiya told him, causing him to stifle a laugh.
"You are aren't you?" Hanamiya concluded with an exasperated sigh on her face. "What are you up to this time?" She added, it was there that Shinn finally began his explanation on how he found out that a group of rogue Marked Ones have arrived and Hanamiya was silent for a moment. Shinn nervously smiled to himself, expecting her an earful of a lecture instead she quietly responded.
"Do you have a plan?" Hanamiya asked softly, Shinn was taken aback and even sat up properly in surprise.
"Well, my plan mostly involves just sneaking in for the most part and then confront the leader, if I can beat him up without killing him I can force him to stand down," Shinn explained. "I don't have spare time so I hope to just bring them all down without killing anyone."
"Ah, so the sledgehammer method then huh," Hanamiya commented. "Well, it's better than nothing, if I was there I could help you but Magi duties first."
Shinn chuckled to himself and then thought of something. "Say, how's your Magi duties by the way? Or what do you even do there anyway?"
"Well, when I'm not doing any scribe work here I just go and explore more about the Astralta which was also being studied here," Hanamiya said proudly, Shinn shuddered remembering last time the two of them were present in that strange place.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Shinn pointed out shooting a glance at Flameclaw which rested on a nearby table.
"Didn't we kill Jezia and put Ozman's Soul to rest the last time we were there?" Hanamiya told him, he can almost imagine Hanamiya raising an eyebrow at him causing him to smile in amusement.
"Fair enough, but what benefit will you even get from studying the place?" Shinn asked in a low voice.
"I'm glad you asked." She told him he felt a brief shudder, while he was prone to make reckless and brash choices Hanamiya herself is no Saint either. She was always vocal on exploring the dangerous aspects of studying magic for the sake of just satiating her curiosity.
"I intend to create a way to use the Astralta as a means for fast travel," Hanamiya said proudly.
"Oh yeah, Fast Travel isn't a thing," Shinn commented, Gaia Battle Front was after all known for many things among which was the lack of a Fast Travel which made traversing the world of Zerundus, a world three times larger than Earth, all the more difficult. "But how will you that? If Astralta is just an extension of Zerundus."
"Well technically speaking Astralta is a source of Ki and Mana I learned from a newly made book published by a Marked One from Agnistone that there are certain locations where Mana and Ki would gather and materialize causing them to form matter within the Astralta."
"Hanamiya please tell me you're not planning on—"
"—breaking down a living being to streams of Mana and Ki and have them reform again on key locations?" Hanamiya finished his sentence. "I plan to."
Shinn instantly facepalmed himself.
