Chapter 4: Summer Mornings

[July 22, 2023, Saturday]

Haruka stood outside Hanako's home with a hint of reluctance. The only reason that he went there was because of her offer to help him with some homework, something that he forgot recently due to his constant habits of playing GBF.

"Right Homework, I've seen enough Manga to know where that's heading." He said with a scoff and looked around with the only proof that shows that he is in the right place is the nameplate that shows the Name 'Amamiya' by the gate.

"Can I help you?" A voice behind said, Haruka quickly turned around and met a young man who seems to be a first-year with chestnut brown hair and brown eyes that looked at him with a mixture of curiosity and boredom as he carried a large backpack behind him.

He looks like a guy version of Amamiya but with brown hair. Haruka noted as he looked at him and regaining his slight composure after being surprised. "Uh, I'm looking for someone here, she told me she lives here."

"Oh, my sister? Come on in." The Young man said raising a curious eyebrow at him as he gestured him to follow him inside the house.

"Can I ask who are you?" Haruka asked as he reluctantly follows him inside.

"Sorry about that." The young man said as he put down his bag and took off his shoes, Haruka followed the same thing as the young man held out his hand with a rather familiar smile, the same smile that Hanako shows him when he spends times with her.

"I'm Hayato, Hanako-neesan's younger brother." He told him as Haruka shook his hand.

Brother? It was the first time that he had heard that she had a brother of the sorts. Was he adopted? Step Brother maybe? Half brother perhaps? Those questions immediately flooded his head only to be reminded that neither of them were close enough to talk despite being together as classmates for the last three years.

Hayato took notice of his confused look and then wince.

"Ah, she didn't tell you yet? Sorry, I thought she'd tell you given how you're her boyfriend and all." Hayato said as they made their way in the Living room. "Sorry for the spoilers."

"She's not my girlfriend?" Haruka corrected with a frown.

"Really? Sorry, I must have mistaken you for someone else that she liked." He muttered in a low voice as he smiled at Haruka as he grabbed a carton of juice from the fridge. "Would you like to have a drink?"

"Uh sure–"

"Morning Hayato," Hanako said walked into the room half asleep, her glasses were haphazardly placed on her face and her hair was still a mess while wearing Sailor Moon pajamas that were slightly undone causing Haruka to slightly look elsewhere in embarrassment as she walked past them.

"Oh hey Fuyumori-kun," She said as she opened the fridge, and then her eyes immediately darted to Haruka as her face went red giving Haruka a rare sight of Amamiya Hanako with a very embarrassed look on her face that he couldn't resist laughing.

"Hayato! Why didn't you tell me he was here the whole time!" Hanako shouted as she sprinted back into the hallway likely heading into her room.

"I just got here myself and ran into him outside here," Hayato said in amusement, Haruka himself couldn't help but laugh from her reaction finding it both funny and adorable at the same time.

"Sorry about that," Hayato said with a smile. "She tends to oversleep when she doesn't have classes since she's either reading or spending time in her Anchor."

"I mean I can't blame her for the latter," Haruka said as a few minutes later Hanako sheepishly peeked out from the corner by the doorway. "You can come with me now." She said in a low voice, Haruka nodded and follower after her.
