Evelyn sat in her bedroom, running a brush through her hair, humming a little tune. Her brother walked past the door at that moment.

Joseph: (leaning against the doorframe) That's really good, Evie.

Evelyn: (standing up so quickly, the brush falls out of her hand) Thank you. It wasn't anything! (shutting the door) Go away.

She shook her head and picked her brush back up. When she was done brushing her hair, she put on her dresser and pulled out some clothes to wear. They were invited over to Uncle Theseus' house for dinner and had to dress nice. It's not like her father wants to go, but her mother said that he has to because Theseus is his brother.

So, they were forced to go be polite.

When she went downstairs, Joseph sat on the couch, but their parents must've still been upstairs, as they were not sitting with him.

Joseph: (looking up from his whittling) Oh, should I leave.

Evelyn: (laughing, sat down) No, I just didn't want you in my room.

Joseph: Well, dad's trying to convince mum to not go. To be honest, I love going over to Uncle Theseus' house. Sam always tells the best jokes.

Evelyn: (remembering an event a while ago) Just don't make it turn out like Christmas of '40. Remember his "joke" got you hospitalized.

Joseph: Yaka, you really don't want to let the past go, do you?

Evelyn: You were passed out for three days! Mum thought you died!

Joseph: (laughing) Yeah. So, I won't do what Sam says, if he dares me to jump off the roof again.

Evelyn: Why did you even listen to him? We all know his ideas are usually bad ones.

Joseph: Now! We all know now that his ideas are bad! We didn't know then.

Evelyn sat back and shook her head. Their parents came down the stairs.

Newt: I still understand why we need to go! He's got nothing to have dinner over!

Tina: He just wants to spend time with you. I don't see why you're so upset.

Newt: I'm not! (seeing Tina's look of shock at how he raised his voice a little) I just don't enjoy going over to Theseus'. Remember Christmas of '40.

Joseph: (giving up) Seriously, why is everyone bringing that up?!

Tina: (watching as Joseph walked out the door) I know what you mean, but that was eight years ago. Joey is fourteen and Sam is sixteen. There shouldn't be any mishaps this time.

Newt took a deep breath and nodded. Evelyn stood up and waited as her mother called Joseph back in. Then, they went by Floo to Theseus'.

Evelyn: (stepping into the fireplace, dropping the floo powder at her feet) Number 6, Lynston Road; London, England!

She was engulfed in green flames before reappearing in her uncles living room. He approached her and helped her out of the fireplace.

Theseus: (grinning from ear to ear) Well, glad you're here! Thought you weren't coming for a second!

Evelyn: I'd have to come here either way, but dad almost didn't.

At that moment, Newt came out of the fireplace, followed by Tina.

Theseus: (holding out his arms) Evelyn says you almost didn't come.

Newt: (awkwardly hugging him back) Yeah. I was a little set back from coming, but Tina said I must.
