Evelyn and Helen hopped off the train when it came to a stop. Evelyn found Joseph on the platform.

Joseph: Evening, Evie. (turning toward Helen with his hand outstretched) And hello. Joseph Scamander.

Helen: (taking his hand) Helen Morsbury.

Joseph: (turning back to Evelyn) You hear that voice a little ways down the platform, Evie?

Evelyn: (listening to a man's voice hollering for first years) Yeah.

Joseph: That's Professor Kettleburn. He's going to take the first years up to the school. I'm going by carriage, which is how every other student gets up to the castle. (he looked behind them as he got distracted by someone. When he spoke again, his voice was absent) I'll see you at the feast, Evie.

Evelyn and Helen watched him run after a girl in Ravenclaw robes on the platform.

Joseph: (already further down the platform) Poppy!

Evelyn giggled and beckoned for Helen to follow her. Helen did so, but her eyes followed Joseph until he was out of sight. Evelyn saw this, but she didn't think Helen knew that, because she kept walking like there was nothing to look at(which, there wasn't).

When they reached Professor Kettleburn, he looked at Evelyn.

Professor Kettleburn: Ah! You must be Joseph's sister?!

Evelyn: How'd you know?

Kettleburn: Well, your brother mentioned you every once in a while. But, I also assumed you were his sister, because you look exactly like your father. He was my best, and dare I say this,.... (he looked around him) ....favorite student.

Evelyn: (laughing a little) Well, you're the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Of course he was your favorite student.

Kettleburn: Shh! Keep it down! I'm not supposed to play favorites!

Evelyn: (shaking her head) No teacher is. But they almost always do.

Professor Kettleburn smiled and ushered them over to the side while they waited for the rest of the first. When everyone was gathered in a line with Professor Kettleburn, he lead them to the edge of the lake with boats along it.

Kettleburn: Alright, first years! Four to a boat!

Evelyn and Helen climbed into a boat and waited for some other kids to climb in, too. A boy grumpily climbed into the boat, followed by a girl with the exact same attitude.

Boy: (looking at Helen) Ugh. We're in the vicinity of a Morsbury, Isabel.

Girl: (looking at Helen as well) Let's hope she's not as annoying as her brother, Aleric.

Helen: (looking at both of them) You're both first years. You don't know my brother. He's already left school.

Isabel: Our father works at the ministry in his department. We've met him and he's annoying.

Helen: (realizing who they are) Oh! You're the Alice twins! Jason doesn't like you either! But, it's kind of difficult for Jason to like anyone.

Evelyn looked at Helen. Helen never told her she had a brother. But Isabel and Aleric said that he worked at the ministry and he seemed like he was nice.

Helen: (upon seeing Evelyn's confused expression) Jason doesn't really work in a department. The only job he could get at the Ministry was in Magical Maintenance.

Evelyn: Oh. So, he works at the Ministry, but a lower level of it.

Helen: (shrugging) I guess you could say that, yeah. He works in the "basement level".
