The loud music and laughter dizzied Kenma. The smell of booze cringed him. All he wanted was to go home and sleep.

With Kuroo's persuasive skills, Kenma couldn't find himself to say no.

Apparently, Kuroo was invited to his classmate's birthday party. The ravenette pestered the blonde to go with him saying that he wasn't close with the other guests.

And guess what?

He left Kenma sitting alone in a corner, sipping a fruit shake because he hated alcohol and of course, he was still underage. Above him, were black and red balloons formed into some sort of animals. Honestly, he didn't care.

Kenma felt like a fucking clown. What would he expect? That Kuroo would sit beside him all night?

Of course he had to dance and party with everyone.

If Kenma had to be honest, he somehow knew that his boyfriend had only brought him there so that he could guide him if ever he'd be drunk.

"Hey li'l kitten, care for a dance?" A random stranger sat beside him, too close for his comfort.

Kenma creased his forehead and muttered a rude "no" before he stood up, roaming his eyes for a certain ravenette.

The lights,  his eyesight, and his height weren't a great help to him and he mentally cursed. He was pre-occupied for a moment and then Kuroo was out of his sight.

He sighed, walking towards the kitchen. He wanted water anyway so maybe he'd ask for a glass.

But the glass of water could maybe wait.

What he saw seemed to supply him water. It was just that it came from his eyes.

Alisa sat on top of the kitchen's counter while Kuroo was in between her legs, hungrily kissing her.

Kenma's legs worked shakily. He quickly ran outside, wanting to escape that suffocating place.

He cried his eyes out behind all the parked cars just beside the road. He wrapped his arms tightly around his legs, burying his face just between his knees.

He sobbed.

He knew too well that all of this was bound to happen when he decided to just keep everything to himself. Because how could he confront his beloved?

He just couldn't.

Kenma decided to calm himself for a moment and go back inside. He'd just have to act normal around Kuroo and maybe he'd stay. He hoped.

As soon as the blonde sat back down from where he sat originally, Kuroo approached him like nothing ever happened back in the kitchen.

"Home?" he asked.

Kenma just nodded and stood up, putting his hands inside the pockets of his hoodie and secretly pinching himself to avoid breaking down again.

Kuroo had said his goodbyes to all his friends and wished the celebrant a happy birthday before they turn to go.

He never even spared Alisa a glance.

What a fucking actor, Kenma thought.

The walk to home was just Kuroo talking about how fun the party was, Kenma pretended to listen. He was too deep in his thoughts.

"Anyway, babe do you wanna hang out with Bokuto. Uhm say, next Saturday?"

Kenma gave Kuroo a side glance before saying, "I'm going to study. You can go catch up with him yourself."

"Aww okay."

Truth was he just didn't want to interact with anyone.

Because attachments only hurt him. Kuroo was the number one example.

--

Kenma sat freely on his own couch, switching to different channels. When he couldn't find something interesting , he stood up to get his PSP.

Just as he was about to enter his room, he heard Kuroo flirting through his phone.

Kenma was so fucking done. He had to do something. He had to try.

He slowly opened the door and silently entered.

"Kuro? Who are you talking to?" he approached Kuroo who was clutching his phone to his right ear, smiling like an idiot.

"Kenma! It's just my partner on research. You know, my last year in high school is very demanding," he said as he abruptly ended the call.

He laughed.

Lies.

"Really? Maybe I'll help this time."

He walked towards Kenma, cupped his face, and stared at his eyes.

"Babe, it's fine. You can chill and play your games all you want. I don't want you to be stressed."

When did you start lying?

"Okay, don't overwork yourself."

Kenma smiled.

He just couldn't ruin this.

hello, just a quick and super short update 😬
