Let me just say, I have never been more excited to go to work on Monday.
____

I placed my brown leather bag on the floor next to my chair. I ran my hands over my button-up shirt and adjusted my cardigan. I ran a hand through my curly hair and sat down at my desk opening up a book since I don't have any work right now.

"People! Crimefighters!" Penelope shouted as she scurried towards our desks.

"Did you hear?! We're getting a new profiler.." She seemed wary, less excited than she usually is.

"Do you know who it is?" Emily asks curiously.

I tried to keep myself from speaking up since I already know exactly who our new profiler is.

"No, all I know is she came from sex crimes," she sighs, "I don't like change, you guys know that."

"Relax baby girl, I'm sure the new agent will be great," Derek comforts the colorful blonde.

As if on cue, the glass doors opened revealing Y/n. She walked in with a small smile on her lips. She had on a black turtleneck with a sage green trench coat over it. She paired it with white jeans and black laceless doc martens. She's holding a box in her arms, which I'm assuming holds her things for her desk.

"You think that's the new agent?" I ask, gesturing to the girl that had my full attention.

"I hope so! That girl can dress!" Penelope squeals.

We all watch her as she walks up the stairs and knocks on Hotch's door.

"Yes! That's our new profiler! I hope she's nice," Penelope smiles

I tune everything out to watch her. When Hotch opens the door a pearl smile falls upon her lips. She shakes his hand kindly and steps inside.

"Earth to pretty boy," Derek snaps his fingers in front of my face.

"Hmm? What?" I ask, shaking my head.

"You're into the new girl," He chuckles.

"What— no, no I'm not. I haven't even met her yet,"
I shrug trying my best to hide my micro-expressions.

"Oh, you so are. Pretty boy and pretty girl. I'm rooting for it," Derek winks.

I roll my eyes in response, looking back down at my book. I debate telling Emily since she was the one who pushed me to talk to someone— that someone being Y/n. I decide against it, I'll tell her eventually. Not quite yet though. Our previous knowledge of each other can be kept a little secret.
