My eyes flutter open and the sun is shining into my eyes. I'm exhausted so I close them again. But they jolt back open again when I realize that it's the first day of school. I get out of my bed and run over to Charlotte, my best friend and dorm mate, and shake her to wake her up.
"Charlotte, Charlotte," she's a heavy sleeper. "CHARLOTTE WAKE THE FUCK UP!"
"Go away." she says in a tired voice as she flips me off.
"No. It's the first day of school we can't be late!" I say started to get annoyed.
Her eyes then jolt open just as mine did and she immediately gets up.
"Sorry Liv. I forgot." she apologizes.
"Your good." I smile.
I walk over to the outfit I picked last night. I did a lot of planning since I want to look perfect today. I'm wearing a semi-short, well pretty short, green plaid skirt, a green, black, and gray argyle sweater vest that was slightly cropped with a white polo under that, some tall black socks, some cute black shoes, and of course my robe. I curled my hair, and finished that with a green headband, then put on some light makeup. I looked in the mirror.
𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘵. I thought to myself.
"Uh... Olivia you look pretty hot." Charlotte complemented me.
"I literally just said the 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵 same thing to myself. Thanks." I giggled.
Good. I'm glad I look hot. I need every single one of those fuckers to know I'm the Slytherin queen. They should all stay away from me. It would be better for all of us.
Just then an owl came my dorm's window. He dropped a letter. It was addressed to me and there was one for Charlotte too.
"Hey, we got letters." I handed the letter addressed to Charlotte to her.
I opened it up and it was from my parents.

"My dad couldn't even sign the letter." I scoff. "Whatever I don't care."
But the truth is, I do care. I choke back my tears and suck it up. I should be used to it by now. Dad stopped signing the letter after my third year. There was always just this hope inside of me that maybe he forgot, or had to go to work, or wrote me his own letter. But no. There was never anything else from him. And I couldn't expect much more.
