Pony's POV

I ran to the lot, hoping that I would find Johnny there. With Dal being gone, I can imagine he wouldn't've felt comfortable at Buck's house for too long, not if there were too many people there. When I got there, I looked around silently, hoping that I wouldn't have to yell. When i realized he wasn't there, I  started the long trek to Buck's, hoping that I would get there as he was leaving. I'd only been inside of Buck's house a few times, and I can't say I liked it in there too much.
Once I got to Buck's, I walked up to the front door, knocking somewhat quietly since I didn't hear any noise. That told me that a party wasn't going on. It only took a few seconds for the door to open, and for me to look up at a surprised Buck.
"Hey there Pony. What're ya doin' here kid? Does Darry wanna get this years fishing plans all set up?"
I shook my head, watching as his expression fell to a small frown. "Actually Buck, I was wondering if Johnny was here by any chance."
     "Yeah, he is. C'mon in."
Buck let me in and had me sit down. I question why I wasn't allowed to go upstairs, and he looked at me, an amused look on his face.
"It's not that you can't, it's jus' that Dal hasn't left for the rodeo yet. You could go knock, but if ya do that, Dal might wanna kill ya."
I nodded, getting up and running upstairs to Dally's room. I would happily take getting near killed if it meant getting to hang with Curly for a while today. I stood outside of his door for a bit, then got up the guys and knocked as loud as I could. I heard a loud groan, and then the door opened.
In front of me stood Dallas, his hair the most screwed up I'd ever seen it, and a completely different set of clothes then he was wearing the day before, which is a rare thing. I brushed it off, not thinking anything of it.
"Hey Dal. Sorry for w-" I got cut of by him telling me to be quiet. I tilted my head slightly, and so he moved off to the side, giving me a better view of the room, while pointing to the bed.
There was Johnny, sleeping and looking peaceful, a small smile on his face. When the kid moved a bit, whining in his sleep, Dally ran over, petting Johnny's hair and cooing words so quietly I couldn't hear. After Johnny had gotten the same peaceful look he'd had before back, Dal looked at me.
"You tell anyone an you're dead, ya hear?" he asked me through gritted teeth.
I nodded quietly. Dal put a pillow by Johnny in which he wrapped his arms around quickly, then found his jacket and wrapped him up in it, walking out of the room and downstairs. I followed quietly.
"Hey Dal? Are you an Johnny-" I got cut off by Dallas again.
"Yeah, we are. Shut up about it an don't tell anybody."
The tone in his voice was enough to let me know that he wasn't kidding. He'd kill me if I told.
"I gotta head out in a sec. You leave me be. Gotta get ready for the rodeo. If Johnny ain't up an hour after I leave, jus go wake him up or leave. Either works."
I nodded. "Alright, I'll do that. Thanks Dal."
He only nodded, then walked off to get ready.
