DON’T FORGET TO COMMENT YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE STORY TOO.
THIS WILL BE MY LAST CHAPTER UPDATE FOR TWO OR THREE WEEKS, SCHOOL IS STARTING UP AGAIN :(
THANKS, THE_BLOOD_MOON OUT.

The rest of us were all frozen in shock. Harley usually came in with an angry attitude. Sometimes covered in blood with bruises or even drunk. Seeing Harley smiling or happy was really frightening. Not that it didn’t suit him, it was just something e didn’t do often. Declan looked slightly concerned and Cade looked even more scared than usual.

“Hey Harley, you feeling alright?” Jordan asked softly.

“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” he replied.

“Probably because-“Taylor began

“No reason, Jordan asks everyone that question” Declan interrupted.

Taylor and I exchanged confused looks.

“You’re a pretty nice guy, Jordan” Harley soothed.

Cade almost chocked on his pizza.

The whole time that we were eating was awkward. Everyone was really confused with Harley’s odd behaviour. In any case Declan, Jordan and I were stuck on Clean up duty because the others managed to get away.

“Okay, I don’t think anyone is going to disagree with this but there is something wrong with Harley” spoke Jordan.

“No kidding but it was kind of like he wasn’t sure about what he should be doing” I added.

“Come on guys, we all know some of the states that Harley comes home in. He’s probably just taken another hit to the head. I’m sure he will wake up fine tomorrow morning”

“You know what’s wrong with him don’t you” Jordan stated.

“No, I just want to know if Harley’s new attitude is momentary or permanent. Until then, don’t tell him how he usually behaves. Got it?” Declan commanded.

Jordan and I agreed.

“well I’m going to my room. Night guys” I announced as I handed Jordan the last plate.

“Night Faye” said Jordan.

“See you tomorrow” Declan spoke.

Cade and I met Taylor and Jordan over at our usual school yard hangout. The big oak tree. It sat on the very border of the school and the forest. The tree was very old with many thick branches that we all sat on.

“Where are Harley and Declan?” Cade asked as the two of us started to climb the tree.

“I ran into Declan before he left this morning. He said that he might be late because he is going to see Alison. He also said to try and go along with Harley’s behaviour” Taylor replied.

Jordan and I gave each other knowing looks.

“And Harley?” Cade huffed as he hoisted himself onto a branch.

“Socializing” Jordan cringed as he pointed to a group of nearby people.

I don’t think that the four of us could believe what we were seeing. Harley was actually talking, laughing and smiling with other people.

“I never thought I’d see the day” Taylor stated.

“I don’t know how much longer I can take this” Cade panicked.

Bring! Bring!

“Come on, let’s go” Jordan huffed as he jumped down from the tree, dragging Cade down with him.

I joined Taylor back at the tree during lunch. Declan appeared moments later.

“Hey Declan, did you manage to talk to Alison?” asked Taylor

“Yeah I did actually” he answered.

“What about?” I asked.

“I asked her if she had heard anymore about that Sisyphus guy. She said yes, it has been conformed that he has found a way to escape his eternal punishment. The only problem is that nobody will know when he has escaped because Sisyphus has been given the powers of something called Metamorphosis. Using this power he can find a replacement and send them to Tartarus while he walks free” Declan explained.

“Okay, I didn’t get half of that but isn’t he the one you were reading about yesterday, Faye?” said Taylor.

“Yeah, he was. I kind of understand what Declan is talking about. You and he others should meet me in our library after school”

“Yeah, okay” he sighed.

“Sure see you then” Taylor smiled.

The bell and rung so the three of us parted ways so we could get to our classes.

I entered the library alongside Jordan after school. He helped me reach the book that Harley got for me yesterday then we sat at a rather large wooden table where Cade was already seated.

“Hey gorgeous” Cade smiled.

“Hi” smirked Jordan.

Cade looked horrified but I laughed.

“Don’t look so horrified. You didn’t determine which one of us gorgeous people you were talking to”

“Clearly, Faye is who I’m talking to when I say that” growled Cade.

“I leave you alone for a couple of hours and you already have people arguing over how gorgeous you are” said Declan as he slung his arm around me while Taylor took a spare seat at the table.

“Maybe I should hang around you more to put a stop to that” he continued, inching closer to me.

“We already spend too much time together if you ask me” I said removing Declan’s arm from around my waist and pushing him away from me.

“Looks like you better pick up your game Cade”

“Shut up Taylor”

“What?” I asked.

“Taylor and I have a bet going as to who will get you first. Taylor’s bet is on Cade. Mine is on Declan. 30 bucks is on the line here” Jordan explained.

“You’re betting on me!” I whined.

“Yep. We were hoping we could convince Harley to place a bet so that the price would rise but that hasn’t happened yet” Taylor sighed.

“Where is Harley anyway?” asked Cade.

“We couldn’t find him so we will have to fill him in later on” Taylor replied.

“Fine with me, now can someone please explain why we are all in the library” Jordan demanded.
