What is wrong with Mindless Self Indulgence?

Hi I just want to make some things clear.

1. I'm fine if you listen to them. Listen to whatever the fuck you want I have no right to dictate what you can and cannot listen to.

2. If you just listen to the music I don't have a problem with you. If you defend them, however, then I have a problem with you. I myself listen to some artists that are problematic, but I don't recommend their music to anyone and whenever someone finds out I listen to them I make sure to state clearly that I do not support the artists' actions.

3. I used to be a fan of this band to the point where they're one of my top streamed artists on spotify. I am aware that they're supposed to be a joke band. I know that when they started this kind of stuff was okay. I am fully aware of all that.

4. I understand that the tiktok allegations aren't the most substantial. I should've included the fact that when asked to address these accusations, jimmy and lindsey chose to entirely leave twitter instead of acknowledging them. (See the next chapter for more about different allegations NOT from tik tok)

5. This isn't the most well written thing in the universe. I was filled with many emotions when writing this so it might have came off a little biased. That is entirely unacceptable. Someone pointed out that I was "cherry picking the facts" and I agree to a certain extent.

6. There were some errors made in this book and I'll correct them once it's been proven to me that i was wrong. If you notice a mistake kindly point it out and it will be corrected.

7. If you look through the comments you'll notice that I used to engage with those who commented defending the band and I will no longer be doing so. I have made my opinions clear and it would be redundant to have the same argument over and over again.

8. My stance used to be "if you listen to msi I question your morals get off my page" but now my stance is "Listen to whatever you want. But don't defend a band's shitty actions just because they make what you think is good music"

9. I understand separating the art from the artist, but in this case the art is the problem so I personally can't do that. If you can separate the art from the artist go right ahead.

10. I want to just remind you all that you don't have to sacrifice your morals for a band. If a band you like has done some shit that goes against your morals, you don't have to defend them, nor do you need to stop listening to them. I personally cannot listen to some artists if they do someone that is strongly against my morals, but if you can, good for you.

If you read all the way through good for you. I might rewrite this at some point but that point is not today. Thank you for reading this chapter.
