I was in the kitchen when i heard the knock, mum being tired had neglected the "don't go near my kitchen" resolve.

I hastened up with washing the beans into the boiling water as i was curious to what was happening in the living room.

I could hear mum's shout for joy and dad's 'thank you Lord'.

I almost bumped into princess who was also hurrying to get me.
She hugged me and dragged me to the living room while i kept on muttering "what happened".

Mum just embraced me and gave me a letter.

Dad's face was lighted up with joy.

And then i read the letter.

You'll be expected by 10am tomorrow with your parents at ikeja government house to sign your scholarship documents.

I didn't realise it when i knelt  to thank God with tear filled eyes.

Tears of joy, it was so unexpected.

My parents also knelt down and thanked God.

Only  the thought of a burning house got me on my feet and back to the kitchen.

My dad told me just how proud he is of me ditto from my mum.

We lost appetite for beans and my dad went out to get hot pepper soup with cold drinks.

Our evening devotion was only praise for an hour.

Bro micheal called and was so excited when we told his.

It was too good to be true yet it was true. I slept off singing praises to God.

   One million naira was paid to my father's account. I was given a laptop and i was told that if i finished my hnd with first class I'll be sponsored for my masters abroad that is of course after i had gone through some examinations .

I was so happy.

When i wasn't granted admission i saw all my plans disappear, when i found out about the curse, it was like my whole world crumbled. but then when i found Jesus i was moulded again and given a chance to start afresh.

As i shaked hands with dignitaries and signed my signature, journalists were taking pictures.

The next day on station. The Girl With The Brains , was the heading.

People came visiting to congratulate my parents.

I could hear some people say 'she got her intelligence from her parents' but i knew that wasn't true.

Every single human being posses undeniable intelligence because God is intelligent and we were created in his image.

But it takes the fear of God in you to wake the sleeping giant in you.

Nothing good ever comes easy, for that reason one has to be disciplined, subdue your flesh and study really hard then pray to God for retentive memory which has been promised to us in John 14 :26.

This life changing experience I've encountered with God i could never trade for gold.

I stood up to dance God and thank him once again playing my favorite gospel high praise because i knew what happened to me this past week i didn't deserve it a bit.

It was simply mercy, mercy from the most high God.

I heard a knock and i went to check who it was before opening the door because i knew my people have all gone to their place of duty.

Benedicta!, I had mixed feelings as i moved to open the door but i could hear these clear words "pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall".

Come in, i said to her and she entered.

Thanks, she said.

I wasn't really expecting you, i told her.

I know you weren't, am sorry really i am, she said bluntly.

I kept quiet a sec before replying,
Is that because I'll also be admitted and be in the same rank with you?

No, it's because you were indifferent to me everytime i tried  to make you feel low, you still greeted me and smiled at me acting like you didn't feel bad, i expected you to fight back, insult me not shrug it off like it didn't matter, she stated sincerely.

The inner peace i felt right there seeing the sincerity in her eyes made me realize what a liar i was when i said i had no grudge against her or the way she had treated me hadn't hurt.

Am sorry too, I'm sure if things had been switched i would have
treated you the same way.

You see that change you saw in me, that was the holy spirit manifesting in my life, i said to her smiling.

Really, she said giving me a puzzled look.

Yes, i replied using the opportunity to preach my Christ to her.

By the time she left we had both settled our differences .

We might not be best of friends but at least we won't be haters.

I might not have been able to convince her about christ but i had shared the word with her.

I decided to call kemi and accept the get together with me and my three friends again.

Kemi has become a close friend and she knew about bennys attitude to me.

I turned and twirled as i sang "all things are working for my good, it's intentional" by travis greene.
