People tend to toss a lot of
nonsense your way
But it's left to you to pick sense and throw the rest away.

I and princess walked to the teens class while benny went to the main church.
We had both agreed to change to the main church when we gained admission and "damn" church protocol that said till 18 years.
I didn't gain admission but am already seventeen just that I'm not so keen on damning church protocols anymore.
Sister seriously you took that shit from her, princess said giving me that unbelievable kinda look the moment after shared the grace in church.
What shit, i asked feigning ignorance.
Why did you greet her, i greeted her so you wouldn't have to, princess continued.
Why shouldn't i greet her, just because 'someone is feeling superior' doesn't mean i have to start my day with a grudge and stand the chance of letting my prayers go unanswered, i said as a matter of fact.
What happened to my no nonsense sister, princess said bewildered.
I buckled her and threw her in third mainland bridge victoria island to be precise, i said and we both bursted out laughing.
Seriously little sis, one has to learn to be tolerant.
In this world of ours, a lot of nonsense will be tossed our way, we just have to use wisdom and we will find sense in every non-sense, i said.
That's true, i wish to learn to tolerate others like you, princess said as we walked hand in hand to the spot our parents were waiting for us.
I smiled widely, i never realised my sister actually looked up to me until i started reading my bible every morning and night.
Then i noticed that princess started too and sometimes when we retire to bed and she see's me with my bible she gets up from the bed with a groan and takes her bible too.
We started comparing notes on what we've learnt and it helped us get closer.
I felt glad i could improve my sister's reasoning in a way and right there i prayed to God to help me impact in lives.
We met our parents interacting with a church member before dad turned to me.
Joanne did you go to meet pastor, dad asked.
No, for what, i said confused.
You are going to write your exam tomorrow and the place is quite far, there's no small journey, mum chipped in.
Okay..., i said remembering the 'curse' and a sudden dread washed over me, come on it's broken i shunned myself.
We'll be going home now so go wait in the pastors office, dad said.
Don't worry you'll meet food when you get home mum added smiling that smile that said 'foodito'.
I waved them good bye trying to manage my grumbling stomach.
Pastor is always very busy on sundays even after service, i knew i might not be meeting him until an hour later.
I sat down on the chair at the passage to the pastors office receiving all sorts of "joanne how are you", "greet your dad for me"
"what are you doing here", "do you want to see the pastor" including a few " i like your hair"
"i like your outfit" comments.
I was already feeling really awkward when i was called to see the pastor.
Good afternoon sir, i greeted.
How are you, joanne isn't it?, he asked.
Yes sir, i was glad he remembered my name with the rate at which people go in and out of his office.
So how can i help you, he inquired.
Sir i'll be going for an exam tomorrow so i came for prayers, i stated.
Father in the name of Jesus, the road is secured and covered with the blood of Jesus. Sister joanne here shall write the exam and come out with excellent results in Jesus mighty name, he prayed.
Amen!, i said.
Is that all, he questioned.
Yes sir, thank you sir i replied. I had actually thought he was referring to someone else, the prayer was too short and straight to the point not the long one i expected.
Joanne do you believe the curse is broken, he asked.
Yes sir i do, i replied.
Then go in peace, he said flashing me a fatherly smile, our pastor is an elderly man and his youngest child is a girl my brothers age mate.
I felt glad i went for the prayers, it has just boosted my faith.
I've come to realize it's not about how strong the prayer is, it's about how strong your faith is.
As i stopped a bike man, the only thing on my mind was the palatable meal awaiting me at home and that got my mouth watering.
P. S
Wish you had a sister who is a foodie like me😂.
