Chara blinked a couple times before fully waking up. She sat up quickly and looked around with a  shocked yet confident look. Her breathing was fast and she was clearly a little confused.  But after only a little bit of examination her eyes locked on Sans. Her eyes narrowed and she scooted back into a defensive position.

"Stay back! If you try anything, I Will kill you!" Chara threatened Sans with a tone that seemed serious but wavered at the end when she noticed Frisk next to her. But before she could react Frisk launched forward and hugged her. This sudden action startled Chara and she jumped.

"What a-are you doing!!?" Chara exclaimed and her eyes widened.

"Hi Chara, It's good to finally meet you in person like this," Frisk said calmly with a hint of excitement.

Chara did nothing but sit there in shock not really knowing how to react but then pushed him away, "Don't touch me!" She said with great venom in her voice.

Frisk nodded and then slowly sat back down again. But, it wasn't soon after that the door to the house bursted open and a cackle cut through the air.

The air was tense before but now everyone's gaze shifted to the door to find Papyrus standing proudly with a different human than last time in his grasp. Papyrus hand both hands on his hips with the human under his upper arm in a tight grip.

"I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER HUMAN!" Papyrus exclaimed proudly with a flaunting  gesture towards himself.

Frisk smiled slightly at this and Sans chuckled. But, Chara on the other hand looked unamused with Papyrus and glared daggers at the human. The human then struggled and pushed out of his grip. Papyrus turned to the human and smiled wide.

"Wha-what are you freaks!?!?!" The human exclaimed in a panicked voice.

"We aren't freaks, we are skeletons and two humans!" Papyrus said with great enthusiasm. "Wait, two? Humans?" Papyrus realized and turned back towards them. Papyrus instantly looked more excited, "Two humans! Wowie!"

Chara's eyes had widened at the word freaks and she put a hand on the couch and braced herself which she slowly used to stand to her shaky feet, "What did you just say? I didn't know that living garbage could speak," She said with animosity in every word.

The human seemed taken aback by Chara's audacity. But then his fear took hold of the monsters around him and he took off.

Papyrus turned back to the fleeing human and started running after him, "WAIT, I HAVEN'T INTRODUCED YOU TO MY HUMAN FRIEND YET!" He called after them.

"Tch," Chara then slowly sank back down into a sitting position.

Sans looked at Chara and then sighed, "Right, well, it's getting late and I told Toriel I wouldn't keep you long. Sans jumped up from the couch and looked towards the two humans.

Frisk got up and nodded, "Alright," He then turned to Chara and without her approval brought her to her feet to help her walk.

Chara looked away from Frisk clearly angry but realized she won't get anywhere without his help until she can fully get used to it again.

Sans walked out of the house followed by the two which were walking at a slower pace so as to not fall down.

The sun was setting over the horizon by the time they made it out of the underground and together walked down the same winding forest path to the forgotten village which they were staying in.

They stopped at the front of the house and Sans stepped out of the way of the door to be respectful and give space. The lights of the warm interior were shining brightly through the windows of the small house and a sweet smell filled the air.

Frisk looked at Chara who was looking at the ground unbeknownst to what was about to happen. At this point Chara could walk fine, just at a slower pace but couldn't run quite yet.

Frisk stepped forward and softly knocked on the door.

A moment later the door opened softly and Asriel stood in the doorway.

"Howd-," Asriel's words fell short when his eyes locked on Chara.

Chara looked up quickly just in time as Asriel lunged forward and practically knocked her off her feet in a tight hug.

Her eyes widened and slowly her arms rose and hugged back with a confused and shocked expression.

Asriel started crying and hugged even tighter in his joy, "You're back, you're actually here!"

The commotion outside drew the attention of Toriel who had just brought out a Butterscotch pie from the oven.

She stepped towards the doorway and froze when she saw what was happening. Her eyes started welling with tears and she covered her mouth.

Then she also stepped forwards and joined the hug that was happening.

Sans and Frisk stood back and watched the moment with smiles. Sans chuckled and looked down while Frisk just took in the moment happy he could have brought this much joy.

After a long moment the hug ended and Toriel took a moment to wipe her tears of joy away. Asriel just smiled brightly at Chara, surprised to be able to see her again.
