Grover had been helping his friend for who knows how long, but it didn't seem like Percy was getting better again.

He stayed inside all day, barely ate his food, and would barely lift his head to talk. Worst of all, he wouldn't let Grover in half the time.

"Percy!" Grover called from the other side of the door, trying to be let it by his best friend. "Please, let me in,"

"Why? So I can drown you like I nearly did Jason? Face it Grover, you'd be better off without me. I'm a menace to society. This blade killed so many people. . ."

Grover knew without being in there he was playing with riptide, but what he didn't know was why. The empathy link had grown tiresome to keep up, the negative thoughts trying to separate the two boys.

". . .It's only fitting if it kills me too,"

That's what Percy was doing. That's why the empathy link was trying to break. It didn't want Grover to feel that while Percy was. . .No

Grover barged in through the door , kicking it threw and destroying it as he rushed to her his best friend. Percy was on the floor, a cut in his chest.

It wasn't deep enough to kill him yet, but blood was still draining from him as his skin got paler and paler.

"Will!" Grover called his voice hoarse. In desperation, he lifted Percy up and half carried-half dragged him to the infirmary. "Will!"

Will solace rushed out of his infirmary as he heard his name, but upon seeing Percy he rushed to his side.

"Celestial bronze," Will muttered, "cuts not deep enough to use ambrosia, it would kill him. Help me bring him inside, he'll need stitches,"

Grover nodded weakly, helping the blond carry Percy inside. They put him on a stretcher and carried  him into the nearest bed.

Blood soaked through his shirt, but Grover didn't care. His best friend had just committed a suicide attempt, and he wasn't even allowed in the room to watch him be saved.

What seemed like a dozen Apollo campers rushed back and forth in the room, trying to save Percys life. He heard shouts from Will and mutters of "hang in there perce" but it didn't seem to soothe Grovers worried thoughts.

Nico. That was a name he had heard a lot in the room. Grover shared a look with Will before nodding and running off in a daze.

"Nico!" Grover yelled. "Nico please! It's Percy! Help!"

Grover made it to the hades cabin and threw open the door, Nico Di Angelo standing there worried. Grover pointed to the infirmary, "it's Percy,"

Nico knew immediately what Grover meant and the two of them raced into the infirmary. Nico ran inside, talking with Will in hushed voices.

"I don't sense death yet, but that could change," Grover managed to make out a few words. "I can try and use my powers, but I would need both you and Grover to help,"

"Why Grover?" Will asked.

"He has an empathy link, maybe we can have him try and fight for Percy to stay alive. But it's risky, if it goes wrong both of them will die. I sense the same aura of death around both of them,"

Grover rushed through the door. "I'll do it,"

So together, the three boys tried to save Percys life. Will lifted his hands and let white magic swirl forward, Nico doing the same but with dark magic.

Grover shook in pain as he desperately tried to connect with Percy, though his emotions were slipping further and further away.

He could feel everything Percy was going through, he witnessed each death Percy had watched, going through his friends memories as he tried to save him.

Finally, he grasped onto Percys thoughts now, ones about greeting death. Grover pushed backwards, thinking of life and everything good Percy had.

Finally, Percys heart turned normal and the three boys shared a small and tired smile. Percy was still alive, but they knew there were other problems the son of Poseidon would bring up.

And one of them just might cost his life.
