"So, what are y'all's plans? Why are y'all here?" I asked, breaking the silence that had fallen over us.
"We came to see you." Ponsi said.
"Thanks, I'm sorry for tonight."
"What? Why are you sorry?"
"Y'all came on the night that I pretty much bashed y'all. And I was a coward because I was confident with myself, until y'all showed up and I ran."
"You're not a coward, that's a natural reaction." Sean tried to say.
"No, I am a coward, I ran from y'all instead of confronting y'all."
"Okay, that's in the past, but you're here now and that's what counts."
"Yeah, I guess." I muttered and stood awkwardly as the guys settled back into their chairs.
"Do you want to sit down?" Isom arched an eyebrow.
"I'm fine."
"No you're not." Cubbie said pointedly and pulled me into the couch next to him. I rolled my eyes and let it happen, I was too tired to put up a fight.
We sat and talked like this until Lyam and Jake came in. "Cal, you in here?" Lyam asked as he stuck his head through the cracked doorway. "Oh, hey!" He pulled his head back out into the hallway. "Jake, I found her!" Then Lyam and Jake both came into the room.
I stood up and walked over to them. "You okay?" Jake whispered as I approached.
"No, I feel a little uncomfortable, if you know what I mean."
"I get it, we're here now, we cut the night short after playing the radio for a long time and seeing that you weren't coming back."
"So everyone's gone?"
Jake nodded, "Yeah, even Sasha. She left after Susan, Will, and Frank packed up the trailer."
"Good, she'd be the one to wait up on me." I giggled as Jake smiled warmly down at me.
"Okay, we're here now."
"Thank you! It was getting awkward before." I gritted my teeth and looked down at my shoes.
"They were asking about the last couple of years, weren't they?"
"Yeah, and I really don't want to talk about those, ya know?"
"Don't worry, I've got ya covered." Lyam smirked and threw an arm around me before he turned to the other guys gathered in the room. "Okay, clear the couch, it's ours."
"What? No! We were here first!" Ponsi frowned and shook his head.
"Okay, well, we could always just kick you out of this place and let you not talk to Cal."
"You wouldn't be able to!" Ponsi argued and crossed his hands over his chest.
"Really? See, the funny thing here is that y'all don't have the power, we do. The Center doesn't care that y'all are famous musicians, they only care that you're harassing us."
"But, we aren't harassing you guys..."
"We could twist it and make it so."
"Okay, stop with the arguments." Isom stood up and pulled Ponsi up off the couch. Cubbie frowned slightly and got up, freeing the couch.
Lyam pulled me down next to him as Jake took the seat on my other side. Ponsi and Cubbie found some plastic chairs that they pulled over and sat in.
We talked like this until we realized it was midnight. "Well, this is just like old times, isn't it?" Mark chuckled.
I laughed nervously, I didn't like where this was going.
