The Glyph Of Love

Amity's POV:

I woke up on luz's bed, I dont know how did I get here, because the last thing I remember is my dad telling me that I dont belong in society. and falling asleep in tears. Wait- WHAT? Is that Luz? Is Luz cuddling me? I can't with this girl, she is breaking my heart. Suddenly words slip out of my mouth "I love you" I whisper "huh?" she answered- crap. "nothing!" I quickly say, my face turning bright red. Why are we cuddling? I'm frozen in place, I can't move. I squiggle myself out, sadly and I get up. I draw a circle in the air, and I transform into my uniform, I take my pot of purple goo, and test that it could in fact turn into an abomination one more time. I spot a black pot with stickers on it, its Luz's. I open it and whisper "abomination, rise." It rose, its beautiful, just like Luz.

I go downstairs and help Eda prepare breakfast. "Alright, Amity, who is it?" "who is who?" I got really nervous and started blushing "c'mon, I can see that you're having trouble with something and it's clearly a crush, so spill it." "am I that obvious?" I asked in frustration, she nodded "fine its luz" she gasped, we kept making breakfast while Eda kept asking me all kind of awkward 'parent- ish' questions. I put my ponytail up, I didnt realize you could see my undercut that way, I did it a while ago to feel rebellious, and my parents hadn't found out. Yet. Edric and Emira came "hey mittens" Emira said "you already up?" I awkwardly smiled and said: "yeah, I couldnt sleep" "good morning miss owl lady!" Edric said "what's for breakfast?" "waffles" I replied and gestured my head towards the table.

Luz came downstairs and I started blushing like crazy and mumbling out nonsense "h- hi Luz! Luz-io! Luzora!" I did some awkward finger guns. Why did I do that? " I've been talking for too long" Luz looked at me and giggled, I wanted to hug her "oh- amity!" she smiled and blushed a little "your hair looked nice in a ponytail like that! I didnt know you had an undercut!" she said and then rested her hand on the back of her neck, as if she was uncomfortable. She probably thinks I hate her.

I offered we'd walk to school, but luz drew a giant glyph on the sidewalk and a platform appeared, "ta daaa! I explored the sample last night and I learned how to do this!" she hopped on it and then signaled me to get on it, so I did. It started moving and a moment later we were in school. "that was fun!" luz said and I just nodded, almost fainting from the fact that we held hands on our way there. I looked at the calendar on my scroll- august first, grom is in a week, last grom was perfect, except for the fact that luz danced with me because "thats what friends do."

I put my hand in my pocket and I felt the note, I have to ask her to prom this time, I simply have to. "wat'cha thinking about?" luz said in her sweet voice, and I fell to the ground out of startlement, "nothing!" I quickly say and luz helped me up, her hands are so soft I wipe the dust off my clothes, and we go inside, of course the decorations are everywhere. Boscha asked willow out, and it was adorable. Luz asked Gus if he was asking anyone out to prom and he declined, he's hosting the show with king again.

"hey, listen, luz" I said to luz and she looked and me and said "huh?" "I-" I wanted to ask you" I panicked 'to grom!' went through my head 'say grom!' "for help with my base potion lessons? homework! I meant homework! My base potion homework..." why did I say that I'm so stupid. "I'm pretty sure I can help! After all, I'm a part of the potions track! Even though it's not on any of my sleeves" she reached her hands forward and looked at her sleeves and then she looked at her legs, she shrugged and then continued talking- "meet me in the library after school" she said and then left to get king out of the trash- she's so kind I noticed Willow standing next to me and I fell to the ground "woah!" I screeched "sorry Willow, was I daydreaming again?" she nodded, and we start walking. "amity, oh amity" she sighed "I've known you for what, ten years? And you've never got stuck on someone like that. It's not like you." "but" I said "no!" she was absolute "either you get over luz or you ask her to grom." "I-" "Amity has a crush on luz?" Gus said "keep it down!" willow told him - woah how long was he standing there we nodded and kept walking in silence until the bell rang.

We had education next, and we helped decorate for grom. Me, luz and some other kids got assigned for the gym. "hey luz?" I said while we were on the glowing floor, taping the ornaments to the ceiling "yeah?" I can't do this "nothing." I quickly squeaked and kept hanging the ornaments in silence. Next, light spells. Luz kept drawing glyphs and I kept drawing circles in the air. The room was filled with lights and then I said "luz, so you asking anyone to grom?" "no!" she quickly said and the blushed "w- why?" she giggled. I could feel my face turn bright red "no reason!" I almost yelled, and then started awkwardly laughing, even though I was screaming internally. Maybe it's my chance, but I blew it anyways.

*loud squeak coming out of the speakers* 'all of the students are requested to go to the auditorium' all of the students came to the auditorium, such thing hasn't happened science I was in kindergarten. It had to be important luz sat next to me and rested her hand on my thigh, I was frozen, I couldnt move. "we have gotten reports from the gromkeeper. Grom appears to have mutated this year, and it appears to be stronger." "then maybe dont get a high schooler to fight it" luz whispered in my ear and I giggled. "unrelated, the field trip to the emperors castle this will happen earlier this year, one day before grom, to be exact, and the grom royalty will fight in the royal training area, unrelated to the grom – mutation thingy no one's going to die. Probably. Maybe. Anyways have a pleasant day here in Hexide, and dont forget to check out the banshee's in tomorrow's game." Everyone went back to class, terrified of being this year's grom royalty.
