The bright lights' violent rays burned through her eyelids. The screeching alarms pounded through her eardrums. Her head throbbed as she escalated upwards at an exhilarating pace, crashing into the other people around her and the cold metal against her bruised back.Suddenly the compartment clanged to a halt, and the girl was thrown to the grated floor of the cage. Several others did the same, toppling around with gasps and screams.
The girl threw up what contents of her stomach were left, feeling incredibly nauseous after the bewildering awakening. A boy next to her looked at her in disgust as some of the puke landed on him.
She gave him an apologetic frown, but she was not able to do much more before there was too much action around her.
The bright lights stopped flashing, and the dreadful noises stopped. She heard all the individuals gasping for breath around her, trying to make sense of where they were. The girl looked around, horribly confused. The sick feeling in her stomach made her feel even more claustrophic.
The crowd was comprised of boys, all looking to be around 16 or 17 years old. She realized with a sinking feeling that she was the only girl.
All too soon, metal doors opened above them, allowing blinding sunlight to pierce through breaks in the bars above them. The girl looked up out of the strange box to a bright blue sky overhead. She sat there in fear, looking around at her stirring companions.
"Well, come on!" A dark haired boy stood up slowly. "We can't just sit here." He gazed over the group of about twenty teenagers.
They all looked at each other. They didn't know what to do, so they might as well do what this boy suggested. The girl gradually stood up along with a few others, leaning against the side of the elevator for support.
The dark haired boy moved towards the center of the crowded box. "Come on, then. Help me open this thing." He reached up to the remaining doors of the box, motioning for the others to do the same.
Soon the gates were forced open. The boy, who seemed to be designating himself as the leader, started to climb out of the box. A dark skinned boy and a blonde-haired boy followed him, with the girl close behind.
They emerged into a dazzling green clearing, with green grass spreading over the space. Yet this was not the only brilliant factor of the place of their arrival: they were surrounded by massive stone walls, encasing the entire perimeter.
"Well, this is . . . something else." The leader commented.
"Bloody right it is," the blonde boy added with a pronounced British accent.
The girl put her hands on her hips and addressed the boys. "You said it yourself," looking towards the leader-figure of the group. "We can't just sit here."
She starts running towards a small forest, with more of the group following. "Let's find a way out."
