The two teenagers approached an end to the long passage they had been running down. They gasped in realization, seeing how the walls opened up into two directions.

"It's a maze?" The boy turned to the girl, his eyes glowing in the growing darkness.

"Looks like it," the girl whispered. She felt like she was disturbing the peace of the maze as they took the left passage, their footsteps echoing among the massive stone walls.

"Do you think if we find a way out of the maze, we'll get back go our old lives?" The boy said while they took up a faster pace.

"Yes," she responded as they continued walking. "That sounds right. And it can't be too hard. We can easily get out of a stupid maze. And we have all the food and provisions we need back at the Glade. We'll be out in no time."

Suddenly, a terrible, incredibly loud grinding noise permeated the maze. The girl felt the vibrations shake through her very bones.

"Earthquake!" She gasped.

"No... No!" The boy screamed. "The doors!"

He grabbed her hand. She stumbled, trying to put herself back together as he pulled her up.

"Come on!" He begged her. "We need to get out of here!"

Then they heard the most dreadful whirring and clicking sounds.

The girl's heart raced, fear burning through her heart. They ran at a full out sprint, running into dead ends and taking wrong turns.

"There!" She cried. They could see the massive doors almost completely shut.

The leader picked the girl up in his arms. He ran with her, running through the doors just as they shut ever so close behind them.

The girl screamed, her horrified voice piercing the night.

The boy held her as the other boys ran up to them. She felt safe in his strong arms.

"It's alright. I've got you." Their breathing slowed, along with the beating of their hearts.

Their worst fears had only just begun.

"Oh sh-" Minho started to curse when he tripped on the floorboards in the old wooden building.

"Hey! No cursing here." Newt smirked, but Minho could tell he was serious.

"Uh, shuck! I said shuck." Minho's face reddened with embarassment, but eventually he laughed with the rest of the group.

The blonde, British boy had remembered his name while the leader and the girl were in the Maze.

"Okay, guys. Listen up." The girl asked for the group's attention. The leader, Minho, Newt, the dark-skinned boy, and the boy the girl had puked on in the Box stood around in the wooden building while the girl told them about what she had discovered.

"While we were out there, we found out that it's a huge maze." She reminded them. It had been about an hour since she and the leader had returned from the Maze. The moon's beams fell through cracks in the wood of the building.

Sighing, she addressed the group again. "The walls were just as tall as we can see from the Glade, and it just seemed to go on forever. But he and I think," nodding to the leader, "that the way out of this mess is to find the way out of the Maze."

"Well that should be easy," Minho added. "It's just a shucking maze." They all laughed at the silly term.

"But it wasn't," the leader spoke up. "It was was practically impossible to find our way out once we were far from the doors. I can't believe we didn't get trapped in there."

"Then let's hurry up and get out there. Explore. We've gotta find our way out as soon as possible," the boy that the girl was sick on in the Box said. He had light hair and some crazy eyebrows.

"We've gotta wait till morning, though." Newt piped in. "We should rest."

"Agreed." The girl felt extremely tired. They all headed out of the building, and seperated to find a place in the forest to sleep.

"Are you okay? That was really terrifying, earlier." The leader crouched beside the girl, where she sat with her back against a rough tree.

"I'm fine. Thank you for saving me and everything. I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't made it out." She ran her fingers through her hair. She suddenly became very self-concious of how long it had been since she had showered.

The boy smiled. He pulled out a few blades of grass from the ground between them.

"Nick."

"Huh?"

"I remembered my name, earlier, but I didn't want to tell anyone yet. It's Nick."

"Thanks for telling me." She felt honored that he would tell her first.

"Of course." His dark eyes shone in the moonlight.

He stood up to leave, and the girl settled down in her bed of leaves. She fell asleep with a slight smile on her face.
