ARVIN RUSSELL LEARNED THE WORST OF PEOPLE WHEN HE WAS A BOY. When those men talked dirt on his momma behind his and his daddy's back as they prayed in their forest. Where the wooden cross hammered together by a few metal nails and poked in the ground just behind a large log where they perched their elbows on and clasped their hands together for prayer. That day his daddy told him to ignore them and their words, and then the next day his daddy took Arvin to those men and beaten the shit out of them. When he had come back into the car where Arvin and his dog sat waiting, scared a little but also in awe at how strong his daddy was. That day his daddy taught him to always wait for the right moment.

Arvin will hold those words in his souls for the rest of his life. And it was also what Arvin was doing now, waiting in his running car for you to step out of the diner. The sun was still high in the winter sky, but it's crawl to the ground was getting quicker the longer Arvin waited. He's learn from ease dropping on Tommy and Billy's conversation in class when you got off. He also got the knowledge of William not picking you up today from them, saying he was pulling a longer shift today but in all honesty he was just skipping to smoke some weed with his friends. He wondered if you didn't approve of his smoking and that's why he lied to you, or if you did know but you didn't want any part of it. Either way it gave Arvin a chance to talk to you alone without your little dog by your side.

So when he saw you step out of the busy diner he felt his heart skip a beat. Your hair looked to be just pulled out of your tight ponytail with the white headband still in place, your black winter jacket on but not zipped up yet so he could still see your uniform, regular wool black gloves were pulled on, and you quickly pulled out a white hat which had a big ball of fur on the top hanging off. Even in a rush you still look cute, your nose already turning red from the cold including your cheeks. It made you look like a winter fairy with the light snow fall around you. The little flakes sticking to your jacket and hair. As you put your hat on your head Arvin honks his horn lightly with the palm of his hand, grabbing your attention away from your hat.

When William told you he couldn't pick you up that morning you were annoyed, but not at him. No William had a good excuse, you weren't one of those bitchy and whiny girlfriends who makes their man do everything they say. You knew what binderies were and besides, it was nice to be alone for a day or two. But having to walk home in the middle of December wasn't something many people liked, and it certainly wasn't yours. You had asked Annabel if she had a ride and she said yes but her schedule was so tight she wouldn't be able to drop you off at your house. If only you didn't fail your drivers test you would've had-

HONK!

You stopped putting on your hat mid way, the noise startling you. But when you squinted to get a good look through the vehicles windshield that honked, you found Arvin Russell waving you over. You sigh in relief to yourself, thank god you didn't have to walk all the way home, fuck that. You quickly made your way to the passengers side and pulled the door open before sliding into the warm seat and shutting the door.
