Senna

Senna had been selling these mooncakes for hours. The last of the line was finally gone, and the members were all laughing with each other on the foolishness of the students. Why did everyone have to get them on the first day? Some of them had already left, and due to the limit that they made there were a lot of leftovers. In fact, out of the two-thousand snowy mooncake bags they'd planned to sell, over two hundred were left, leaving the Student Council members that chose to sell the mooncakes to take. They weren't crazy- they'd usually only take five, six at most so that everyone could have one mooncake. There was a reason why Senna volunteered to sell things. Especially books and mooncakes.

She watched the other students sell the mooncakes quickly as she sat in the stockroom, sending out the cakes to the seller. Every once in a while, too, money would make its way into the stockroom and stay there. She was still smart enough not to steal, though.

Just then, Senna heard footsteps in the hall and coming towards them, and she tried to tell the others. They were quick enough to sweep the wrappers into the bin, thankful that at least some students would eat their mooncakes in the hall. Boxes were closed, food quickly chewed, and Senna sat up in anticipation.

"Hi! What would you like to buy?" A dark-haired, dark-eyed seller asked the new customer. Senna blinked in relief- Scalene, her older sister, would handle it.

"Can I have one bag of Snowy mooncakes. Coffee flavored. And also, you have chocolate smeared on your lips." the customer nodded at a boy from the student council. He nodded.
"Yeah, thanks for telling me. Bags of two or three?" He asked and wiped his face with a stray tissue.

"Three."

Senna reached into the fridge and grabbed a bag of three coffee-flavored mooncakes, taking the complimentary small passionfruit mooncake that students got if they bought at night. She bagged them and 'Wingardium Leviosa!' ed them to Scalene, who handed them to the customer, who accepted it and gave Scalene seven sickles. She left unproblematically and most of the students went back to what they were doing, except more discreetly.

"That's the last sale of the day!" Senna announced and closed the freezers and fridges stocked with mooncakes, escaping the stockroom.

The selling table had its regular mooncakes eaten already, and Senna noticed that they actually left her one for once instead of eating it. She grabbed it and looked over to the snowy mooncakes, spotting two bags left. Passionfruit and mango; her favorite.

"That's ours," Scalene pointed out the mooncakes Senna was ogling. "The other bag is the Cantonese team's."

The sisters both ripped the bag open and chewed on the cold delightfulness when a knock on the door sounded, then a head peeking in, the customer from before.

"By the way, I know what you're doing," Ashlyn said with a kind of devilish smile on her face before vanishing through the door once more.

"Which ones do you want to give mom and dad?" Senna asked Scalene. They were in the Pigeonwoods, where most students sent their mail. As it wasn't overly sunny, the pair were sat at a table outdoors and sorting their mooncakes.

"Send the cheese," They said together, placing the two bags of cheese mooncakes inside the freezer bags. They also picked out some flavors they didn't like, with the sisters' tastes differing drastically. Senna wrinkled her nose when she saw Scalene placing in a bag of coffee-flavored mooncakes in the freezer bag.

"No! They're so good!" She protested. Unfortunately, Scalene was not one to give up and the freezer bags were soon filled to the brim with both regular and snowy mooncakes. Senna opened up a wrapper of green-tea regular mooncakes, biting into one as she sprinkled some onto the table. Like the sisters wanted, pigeons came and sent their bags to the location they'd written on the bag.

"Are you ready for the start-of-year MAWSLs? Your grades are really good, but you still need to study," Scalene warned. The older girl was already in Secondary Five, part of the Higher Education level. "My F.I.N.A.L.s this year are really important for my career. I'm choosing College, though. What about you?"

"I definitely need a University path to become a journalist or business owner. What's your average?"
"In between U and S. You're in the upper part of S, I know. Better go study!" Scalene all but pushed Senna into the library, leaving the little sister to go upstairs and collect some Secondary Four books, knowing that the best way to study was to bring it up a grade. Also, Senna had studied for her grade enough. She entered the library and sat down by one of the tables, pulling her bag out of nowhere and grabbing a notebook and a fountain pen before getting to work. Books thumped against each other as she studied through them in record time, practicing the wand movements as well.

The sky was dark, she was done and the books were put back, leaving Senna to go get herself a good read as she unknowingly walked into the section where she'd previously felt 'dark magic' pulsing.

But she felt nothing.
