"Say it... Please, say it," Draco panted out as he let himself fall on top of me, his sweaty forehead resting against my own. His whole naked body resting against my own. It might've been slightly clouding my mind, even after finishing what we had just done. My brows furrow as I raise my arm to trail my hand up and down his back.

"Say what?" I ask softly and breathlessly. My other hand coming to his hair while I lightly scrape at the scalp. Draco's head dips down to my neck, causing a smile to light up my face. He gently bites at my ear and I exhale sharply.

"You know what," he murmurs and I can feel the small smile on his face against my skin. Realization strikes me hard and fast and I tense. Draco definitely notices. He leans up to look down at me warily as he's met with my widened eyes. "What's wrong?" He asks quietly, neither of us wanting to break the euphoric atmosphere. I inhale shakily and let my hand fall from his hair to his jaw.

"What will I get if I do, Draco?" I ask through a slight whimper; tears already beginning to blur my vision. Draco's brows furrow deeply. He quickly leans onto his right arm and uses the left by bringing it up to my cheek and wiping the tears I didn't know had fallen.

"What are you talking about, darling? You know I adore you," Draco questions softly. He grins and leans down to kiss me.

But I move my head, lean forward to bury it in his neck and I begin to cry harder, annoyance pricking me in the heart.

"Wh-whats wrong?!" Draco asks, his voice filled with panic and worry. I let out a cry in aggravation and fall back against the bed.

"Exactly what you were just saying," I say through my clogged throat. Draco's mouth turns down and his brows go back to furrowing, causing a crease between them. "You adore me? You treasure me? You wish for our eternity? You can say all of that, all those beautiful heart wrenching things, but not the three little words that will seal it. You expect me to say it and never get to hear them in return, despite knowing you feel it too. How is that fair to me- to us?!" I ramble out feelings I've held in for so long, and keeping my gaze over his shoulder as I feared the look in his eyes if I did.

When I manage to muster up the courage to meet Draco's gaze, I'm met with a look I couldn't even begin to decipher. As soon as he catches my eye, he leans back, his body completely bare to me besides the bed sheet that covered his most private area. I take the extra sheet along the side of the bed and I cover myself as I sit up as well. We continue to stare at each other, not knowing what to do.

"I'm sorry..." he eventually says. My eyebrows shoot up in surprise. "But I can't say it," he states, and I deflate. I move over closer to him and grab his hands in my own.

"Why, Draco? Why can't you say it when you show me you love me every single day? Just tell me why and I can at least try and understand," I say desperately. Draco stares at me blankly. As if he's void of any emotion. But his mouth gapes at me like he's trying to speak. My overactive imagination turns on and I start to fear the worst. I lean away from him. "Unless... you don't love me. Unless I've read everything wrong from the moment you kissed me after the Yule ball two years ago," I assume with a fast beating heart and a fear that grips me like sharp claws.

Draco's eyes widen and he lurches forward, removing his hands from mine to pull me right up against him. He places me in his lap and tightens his hold on my waist.

"I-I-I do care for you. I do, I swear on it... More than I could ever express," Draco says genuinely. His hands squeeze as to affirm his statement. I close my eyes tightly before looking back up at him.

"Then why, Draco? I understand they're hard words to say, but after all we've said, done, and been through, I can't understand what's holding you back... and you won't help me understand. Or even explain why you can't explain. You just don't communicate with me and I feel like I'm the only one wanting to give us a real chance," I exclaim. I watch Draco carefully. But he just stares at me, mouth open, not knowing what to say. I sigh deeply and move off of his lap.
