Sirius woke up to his arm wrapped around the love of his life, his hand spread across her stomach, his face was buried in her neck, legs tangled, and her light snores filling the silence in the room.
He slowly started to move away from her when a whine blew past her lips. A fond smile grew on his face. He chuckled and leaned down, lightly kissing her cheek.
"Get a bit more rest, love. I'll get some breakfast," Sirius whispered against her skin, quickly removing himself from around her, grabbing a few random articles of clothing, and bounding out of the room. Sirius made his way into the kitchen when he realized something...
"I can't cook!" With a shake of his head and a hearty chuckle, Sirius disapparated from grimmauld place and appeared in the bathroom of their favorite run-down diner. Terrible place; mouth watering food. He left the bathroom and quickly ordered her favorites then he began to impatiently wait for them to finish the damn food.
His mind raced with thoughts as he sat in one of the restaurant's ripped booths. He hoped she was still in bed, he thought how nice breakfast in bed would be, thinking how he wanted to treat her this morning, hoping he would get his special breakfast after the food was consumed, and thoughts on what else they could possibly do today.
Sirius was almost too lost in his thoughts to hear or see the bag of food being placed in front of him. Hearing the rustle, Sirius jumped, looking at the middle-aged woman who held a nasty look on her face.
"Your order," she said lifelessly. Sirius did his best to send her a charming smile.
"Thank you," he replied as he brushed past her, making his way back to the bathroom.
The woman watched him walk into the bathroom with the food. Her brow was raised and a disgusted emotion washed over her as she tried to remember the last time they had been cleaned. She couldn't remember and that is when her interest died. She simply shrugged and went back to the cash register.
Luckily for Sirius, he wasn't in there to go to the bathroom. He disapparated from the bathroom and appeared in their kitchen. He suddenly felt giddy and excited about seeing her again, an emotion that still felt new and raw, even if he has been dating her for over five years now.
He set the trays up all nice, putting the food on plates and bowls and adding all her preferred additions to the meal; even adding a flower he could place in her hair before he hurried up the stairs. He balanced the tray in his left hand and knocked with the right.
When he got no answer, he carefully and slowly opened the door. Her form was still on her side of the bed but she wasn't snoring. So she was awake. Sirius' brows furrowed. He walked in and closed the door behind him.
"Wakey, wakey, love. I got breakfast. It's time to get up now," he said softly.
When she didn't move his brows furrowed deeper, a prominent frown on his face. Sirius turned around and placed the food on his desk before he jumped on the bed and snuggled up to her. He placed his chin on her shoulder and whispered in her ear.
"You gotta sit up, bean. I got your favorites," he whispered, trying to sound seductive to get a laugh out of her. She made no reaction. Sirius was getting worried.
His love had a history of depression. For months on end she would seem happy and light. She would laugh at his jokes, hug him constantly, make jokes of her own, join in on pranks, dance with him in the kitchen, read to him in her soothing voice while combing her fingers through his hair. But then every once in a while... she wouldn't wanna get up. She would lay in bed for days on end, she wouldn't smile or laugh or react to anything. She once described it as feeling numb.
