chapter five

the following day, it heavily poured. the rain shot to the ground roughly and it echoed all throughout the school, thunder and lightening traveled its way around the school constantly. it had been raining since early this morning and valerie couldn't enjoy her day, anymore.

classes were quiet and students were distant. the way the school looked made valerie almost disgusted. huge turn.

in her opinion, most of the students at hogwarts wouldn't make it to the last year anyway. so missing and ignoring classes for them would make them just as weak as they already were.

the girl was strolling down a corridor. an open window corridor. you could see a river and how the rain fell harshly onto it, affecting the pattern. she leant against the wall and patted her pockets looking for a cigarette. she wasn't a heavy smoker, valerie just occasionally had one and today seemed like the perfect day.

the thin shape of the stick was felt in her shirt pocket and when she pulled it out, her focus fell off of the smoke and onto the trio that had began walking in her direction. she noticed a redhead first, must be ron weasley. the boy was tall, quite muscular and a pureblood but it didn't change the fact he was dirty. next she noticed a girl, hermione granger, not much to say when noticing and remembering she was a mudblood. last she saw harry potter, the famous and lounged brown haired boy she'd made eye contact with a few days past.

the three kids stared at her and particularly the object she held in her hand.

" you know you shouldn't be smoking those things in here. it's against the rules and extremely unhealthy for your lungs " hermione spoke with a pressed tone, her face in general annoyed valerie to a max.

" all i heard was yapping. i didn't ask for your intel you disgusting mudblood. you and your sad friends here to give me a lesson on my wellbeing huh? " valerie controversially spat at them and out of no where, a angry weasley lunged at her but got held back by the two behind him.

" oh would ya look at that, weasley has balls. " valerie taunted and stepped closer to the boy completely ignoring the two behind him whilst throwing her cigarette in her pocket. the girl smirked at him standing eye level with him " i wouldn't try me weasley, i really wouldn't wanna use you as my ashtray now would i? "

the boy scoffed and let his friends pull him away, more particularly hermione as harry found himself standing silently behind the girl who had once again pulled her cigarette out and lit it with a pack of matches she found in her pocket.

the girl leant against a railing that gave a view of the outside before letting out a sigh " what can i help you with potter? "

the boy stumbled with his words and itched closer to her, keeping eye contact with the ground " oh nothing just wanted to see how you were? " it was really no joke to say this kid was awkward and it annoyed valerie a lot.

" potter i am not kidding if you don't tell me what you want i'm going to kick you so hard you'll be spitting out your lungs. now hurry i have places to be. "

the boy was most definitely terrified by valeries words, so he hurried with his question " are you a deatheater? "

valerie was shocked by the boys suddenness but did not let him know that. over the years valerie had learnt how to keep a straight face and make sure people didn't see what they weren't supposed too " no i'm not. why? "

" oh n-no reason, thanks i'm gonna go " harry stumbled with his words and quickly walked away. valerie watched him leave and released a puff of smoke out of her mouth, fogging up the window.

she knew harry was up to something and she knew he was gonna try and figure out who cursed katie bell, a lot sooner than she expected.

valerie had found a new entertainment. eating a mandarine.

she'd snagged it off of a random hufflepuff plate and began eating it whilst sitting at the slytherin table with her back against the table, her eyes scanned the hall and watching as the golden trio stared down katie bell who had been yet to spot valerie.

in walked draco who immediately caught valeries eye and flickered between her and katie. with a nod of valeries head, draco was off with the girl following.

on valeries way out she grasped eye contact with the bell girl and sent her a wink, turning and giving harry a smirk aswell.

valerie sped down the corridors following after draco who was a few meters ahead of her. before she walked into the bathroom, sobs escaped the boys' mouth and became a sound of entertainment to valerie. she leant against the wall before the boy noticed she was there.

he turned to face her and his wet face turned cold.

" this is your fault valerie. all your fault, i look at her and feel the guilt that you can't feel. you should feel guilty for what you did but you aren't! you don't care valerie and i hate you for it, because all the pressure is left for me whilst you get redemption! " draco yelled at the girl, she didn't exactly know how to react. she couldn't.

" i cant- " draco cut her off.

" you can't feel i know. you don't feel emotions. it's sickening, absolutely sickening. you are a disgusting person " draco spat, valerie was quick to respond by getting in the boy's face " you do not get to talk to me like that. don't forget who i am. what i can do "

draco and the girl had a staring contest. their eyes stared into eachothers, draco looking for any source of emotion other than anger whilst valerie was looking for anything, but all she saw was regret and fear. as always.

" i know what you did grey. you hexed her didn't you? " a sudden voice spoke, valerie turned with a smirk looking at the potter boy. a large grin of accomplishment spread across her face, replacing the smirk " ooh it was good wasn't it? did she say if it hurt? oh how i hope it did "

" your sick " harry spat at the girl.

" nothing i haven't been told before "

harry pulled out his wand " cruc- "

the boy didn't get the chance to finish as valerie had pushed draco to the ground and moved to cover herself with the toilet stalls " confringo! "

harry dodges the hex causing the wall behind him to explode, eventually draco attempts to curse the boy aswell " conjunctivitis c- "

harry cuts the boys short and hits him with " sectumsempra "

draco was thrown to the ground immediately and harry stood still in silence " oh no "

valerie quickly went over to the bleeding boy on the ground just as snape came in healing the boy as quick as he could " vulnera sanentur "

both students watched as the blood was slowly disappearing and valerie turned straight up and stared at the boy " oh your in for it now potter "
