chapter two.

— flashback ,, may 23rd 1997.

black smoke filled the room around valerie, her mouth was silenced with a spell she had no idea of, she stood as straight a pole and her green eyes stared at the figure in front of her. valerie had no reason to be scared or nervous since she'd been through this before.

" now when we arrive you will be silent until i say you are aloud to speak, understand? " the dark lord ordered the young girl, who kept her eyes pierced.

" yes my lord " she spoke clearly and gave a curtesy nod. the man gave her a raised chin in return before grabbing ahold of the ravens arm making them apparate to another location.

the bright fire case was faced in front of valerie and she heard nothing but silence other than the deep laugh coming from the man next to her.

the girl spun around and braced herself with the stares she was receiving, a long dining table was filled with multiple death eaters who were sitting nervously. a sly smirk made its way to her face as she saw the emotions written all over their faces.

" now. valerie take a seat and let's get started " the dark lord spoke pushing valerie in the lightest way but with strong meaning. the girl walked over to the top of the table, sitting next to bellatrix lestrange and fenrir greyback.

her eyes scanned the table and took note to the fact she was sitting across from the boy of the hour, draco malfoy. he looked overwhelmed and traumatic, honestly it was a good look on him.

the boy was looking at his hands that were folded in his lap, he must've felt eyes on him and he slowly lifted his head, looking into the ravens eyes that were filled with mischief and sinfulness — his mind wondered as to why such an innocent looking girl was with the dark lord, yet once looking in her eyes. you'd see why.

valerie had sat uncomfortable in her chair while staring at the table in front of her, she'd completely zoned out of the conversation as she'd heard the mans speech multiple times but started to pay attention when the blonde in front of her stood up.

" —yes draco. repeat my orders to me and prove your loyalty " the dark lord spoke loud with his arms raised making sure everyone heard him.

" i will kill dumbledore and under no circumstances am i to fail. i will prove my loyalty to you my lord " the boys' voice stumbled and pitched at different levels but kept it's stance and draco kept eye contact with the man he feared most.

" well done draco. don't you fail me boy. you may sit down " the man ordered and the blonde sat down.

" now valerie. you will be attending hogwarts with draco this year and you will make sure he does not fail me. do you understand. " valerie slid her chair back and stood with a amused smirk on her face " i will make sure he does not fail you my lord "

valerie turns her head to look at the surprised blonde boy and kept a sly expression on her face.

" excellent "

— end of flashback ,, may 23rd 1997.

valerie never favoured breakfast, it never occurred to her that she particularly needed it so when it came around to breakfast, she didn't eat. instead she started speaking with people she would never usually bother with.

the girl had met a boy named harvey kennedy, she'd found him to be a quiet slytherin that minded his own business. to valerie, this meant he was hiding something and that meant, she was going to find it out. after all, this school was as boring as anything.

valerie strutted confidently down the aisle of the great hall, she walked passed many faces and once reaching the end of the slytherin table, she sat across from harvey. per usual he was sat alone and reading a book.

" and whatcha' reading? " valerie questioned the boy and rested her chin in the palm of her hand, staring the boy down. harvey never lifted his eye contact with his book " get your elbows off the table. "

valerie grumbled, mumbling curse words under her breath and wiped her hands on her slacks " what are you reading? "

" why're asking twice " this time the boy looked at valerie in the eyes which made her grin " well lemme look then "

the raven snatched the book fast, ignoring the boys' protests, valerie flipped the hardcover open and read the title aloud " narnia? what is that? jeez what are you a muggle now? "

a glare was set on the redheads face and he tilted his head " so what if i am? you don't know— "

" you're half-blood idiot. i know " valerie mumbled giving back the book " no need to give me a lecture because i've completely lost interest in the conversation anyway. now, i must ask why are you always alone? "

the boy grumbled and stood up collecting all the books he had with him, before beginning to walk away and out the hall, valerie was quick to follow " why're you leaving? "

" you seem to ask a lot of questions. "

" well i just wanna know and you don't answer them anyway. "

" maybe i don't want to? " harvey stomped up the stairs that led to another hallway, valerie groaned and continued following the boy " gosh your such a nerd, obviously you don't want to because if you did, you would've by now but you haven't so? "

" so what? "

" ugh! you're so frustrating " valerie dramatically said and fell backwards, leaning on the wall with her hands in her pocket.

harvey stopped in his tracks once realising the girl had stopped following him, he turned to face the dramatic girl " your so dramatic! and i'm not alone because alone means one person and since your always following me around like a fly? i'm obviously not alone "

valeries eyes widened in awkwardness and she scratched her forehead " well that was like a book reading itself aloud but i was just wondering— "

" your always just wondering! " harvey groaned loudly and shocked himself at his heightened voice making him drop his book with a loud slap.

the girl stood up straight and her eyes were still widened but instead of awkwardness, shock " that was awesome! that was actually entertaining, never heard you actually be as nice as that! "

harvey stretches his neck out like an emu with a screwed face " what?! i just- are you- goodbye! "

the boy picked up his book and began walking away in a hurry, valerie realised this " wait where are you going? you still didn't answer my question? "

" see my question for you is why are you so annoying? "

" this isn't about me! "

" fuck off "
