Storm's POV

"This is so exciting!" My auntie squealed. I clapped as we walked into the house with all of my stuff.

"I'll put your stuff upstairs, grab something to eat in the kitchen" she says and I nod and walk over to the kitchen. I grab a bottle of cranberry juice from the fridge and a bag of chips from the cabinets. I take a seat on the chair and look on my phone. I text my mom letting her know I arrived, then I FaceTimed Melo. Yesterday he got drafted into the NBA and I forgot to congratulate him. I decided to FaceTime him. It rang twice before he answered. I see Gelo on the screen.

"Hey Gelo" I say waving at him.

"Hey Stormy, wassup wit you" he says fixing himself in the camera.

"I'm just chillin, but how are you?" I ask him.

"I'm good. Just chillin" he says and I smiled at him.

"That's good. Where's Melo?" I ask.

"He outside tryna tan in the sun. You know that ain't working out" he says which causes me to laugh. He walks out and I hear Melo.

"You're bestie is on the phone" Gelo says before giving Melo the phone. Melo sees me and instantly smiles.

"Stormmmmm" he drags out smiling.

"Melooooo" I say mocking him. We both laughed and I started to clap.

"I'm soooo sorry for not congratulating you yesterday on your draft. I was so busy. Please don't be mad at me" I say and he laughs shaking his head.

"It's very hard to stay mad at you. But thank you. I appreciate it" he said smiling.

"So how does it feel? Are you excited?" I ask him propping my phone up so I won't have to hold it.

"It feels great. Now I know how my brother felt. It's a lot to take in though. My dad even gave me a little speech" he says.

"What did he say?" I ask him.

"Only a few parts stuck with me. He said he was proud of me and all of my training and hard work paid off. He loves me and all he wants is for me and brothers is to be happy and successful" he starts off. I smiled as I thought of Lavar. He's a great dad.

"Ok, what else?" I ask. I know Melo, he's gonna say something that really stuck with him.

"He said that I'm never going to meet a nice woman, especially in basketball. In this profession, I got all the fame and notoriety. How am I going to meet a good girl? I won't. Then he said he hates to tell me but I'm going to meet a hoe" he says. I nodded as I listened.  Well, Lavar wasn't entirely wrong.

"He's not completely wrong, but he isn't completely right either. Girls will be throwing themselves at you more then they did before. You can mess around and have your fun sometimes but it's hard to get into a serious relationship with someone without thinking they are just using you. I say just to focus on basketball and worry about girls later. Then you can see if you can find a real one" I say to him. He sits there taking in what I said and looks at me.

"You're never wrong you know that?" He says smiling.

"I know" I said and we started to laugh.

"I'm really proud of you though Melo, really. Even though we've been friends for a few months, it feels way longer then that" I said and I seen him blush a bit causing me to giggle.

"It really feels like that. I value you and our friendship Storm, I'd do anything for you" he says playing with his hair.

"So would I" I said back and we just say there in silence. I grabbed my bag of chips and opened it, grabbing a chip and popping one in my mouth, until he said something.
