Merman Secrets?

Bella's POV

The moon had been up for a while and I was scared I wouldn't be able to face them moon. We ran out the door and looked up at the moon.

"Ugh is it just me or is it not doing anything?" Rikki said.

"It's not just you" I say. This is weird.

"I guess it has to do with the "Blue Moon" thingy" Cleo said.

"Yeah" Emma said. "That's good though, so we can focus on getting Lucas."

"Mhm" Rikki replied. 

"Then let's go!" I say.

"Wait" Cleo says right before we run off.

"What Cleo?" we all ask.

"Don't you get it? We aren't affected, but the merman is!" Cleo responds. "I think Lucas might have been affected before but never told us since a Blue Moon comes out every 3 years or so."

"That makes since!" I say.

"I have a feeling Lucas is going to be worse than we all are together" Cleo says.

"Come on then!" Emma yells.

We all run to the nearest water that will bring us to the ocean and jump in without hesitating. Mermaids go to the moon pool if we get moonstruck. But would a merman go somewhere else? This was so confusing.

We swim to the moon pool. Nothing.

"Where could he have gone?" Emma asks. 

"Well... maybe since you know mermaids have a place..the moon pool...maybe mermans have a sacred place" I said.

"Yeah well, where is that place?" Rikki asks.

"I..I think it should be on Mako" Emma said. 

"But how can you be sure?" Cleo asks.

"I think Em is right" I say. "I can feel it".

Rikki rolls her eyes. "Well, where do we start looking?"

We all look at each other. "Ummm" I say.

"Maybe we should split up?" Emma says.

"WAY too dangerous!" Cleo practically screams.

"I don't know Cleo, how much more dangerous can it get?" Rikki says.

"No time for jokes" I say. "We'll go in twos".

"Ok" they all reply.

"Cleo and I will head West of the island" I say.

"Ok we'll go east" Rikki says.

"Meet back in the middle" Emma says.

And we headed off.

Emma's POV

Ok so we have seen a lot of this island, but there must be something we're missing.

"So" Rikki starts.

"Shh" I say, as I hear something.

"Behind us" I say, as we jump behind a bush.

There was Lucas. I start to get up but Rikki pushes me down.

"Moon spell, remember?" 

"Oh right" I reply. We follow him where he stops, and in front of him there is a rock wall.

"Dead end, what now?" Rikki whispers.

"Just, keep watching" I say. And right at that moment the wall opens up, and a cave lies beyond it.

"What the.." Rikki starts but never finishes.

As Lucas walks in, we slowly follow. 

And then the weirdest thing was in front of us. It was a circle thingy with the merman trident symbol on it. As Lucas gets close to it, it lights up.

"W.." Rikki says as I glare at her.

Lucas doesn't hear but then a circle in the wall opened up and he jumped into it. Ok this is freaky. I turn around to Rikki.

"Maybe only one of us should go in" I say.

"I don't think that is a good idea" Rikki warns but as she says it I was halfway in.

As I turn around, the hole closes. I don't have time to worry about that. Well, I'm in water, that looks endless. In front of me, Lucas is swimming towards, a wait no THE merman trident? I quickly swim to him. What was he doing? Before I got to him, he grabbed it. And turned around. Oh no. His eyes turned back to normal, but only for a second before they became hazy again. 

I didn't know what he was doing, but it was dangerous. I grabbed hold of the trident. I had read enough to know it was really dangerous. And then I felt a spark go through my body and I let go.

The last thing I saw, was a blinding light and an endless ocean.

Okay so I know this was super short. But this is this start of some Mako Mermaids and the trident. Anyway, I'll try to update soon, or maybe tomorrow. Hope you are enjoying!
