AFTER ESTELLE HAD, IN JAMES' WORDS, TRIED TO KILL HIM, SHE'D BEEN PUNISHED WITH HAVING HIM REPLACED WITH SIRIUS. She much preferred Remus, and the boy have even offered to stay, but Sirius had banished them all from the room with a glare.

As she had done with James, Estelle simply sat on the couch and read her book at his tried his best to repair the room. It was a simple spell, that much he knew, but there was far too much on his mind to focus. He didn't care for the headboy's belongings but Crow had a knack for snitching on the Maurauders, no doubt in his mind that this wouldn't be any different.

After another failed attempt, Sirius tossed his wand onto the table and dropped into the seat across from Estelle. She didn't bother to spare him a glance at his movement, only continued to read.

"Why did you two fight?" Sirius finally blurted, perking up in his seat when she finally looked at him. She hesitated for a moment before shrugging, her attention back on the book as if it had never even left. "James started it."

"That's bullshit and we both know it, Estelle."

She froze at the sound of her name leaving his lips. She'd grown so accustom to him calling her Stellie that Estelle made her stomach twist a bit. It sounded wrong coming from him.

When she finally met his eyes once again, she noticed that his were riddled with agitation. Clearly the fight between the she and his friend was bothering him a bit more than she had assumed it was.

"Why did you fight? Did he try to do something—"

"He called himself your brother," she whispered, closely, watching as a plethora of emotions crossed his features. The most prominent was confusion and he pulled a lip between his teeth. "James is my brother."

Estelle couldn't help but flinch at his words, looking away as if they brought her pain. Her heart ached for Regulus Black. He didn't deserve to be abandoned by the one boy he had truly looked up to. Sirius had been his world and he had been nothing but a stepping stone for his brother to use.

"James is not your brother," she spat, trying her best to hold her anger at bay. After what had happened with James, it had nearly been proven that she would kill for the youngest Black.

Sirius narrowed his eyes, pulling his shoulders back slightly. He was a bit taken aback with her urge to protect Regulus. He wondered if she knew the whole story, would she still do the same?

"My brother chose his friends just as I chose mine," he responded, a slight twinge in his voice that Estelle couldn't place her finger on. "He does not need me although he swears that he does. It was his choice as much as mine that we ended up this way."
