Sahdev POV

"Permanent?" I asked my voice barely above a whisper. Everything seemed to freeze for a second... Nakul could be permanently injured, affected by this... something that happened because... he-... he could lose his dreams, his ambitions...

Vrushali comes up behind me resting a hand on my shoulder... I'm not sure how to respond... I- I really thought I'd ever even have to think about such a situation much less live through it...

"Hey listen I-"

"I'm fine," I say interrupting her what was most likely condolence... I don't need condolence. I don't need a sorry right now...

"No, you're not you need t-"

"I said I'm fine damn it!" I glare at her clenching my jaw.

"Is he awake?" I ask looking at the Vaidya Ji.

"Not yet, I've given him a sleeping medicine to help with pain and let him rest."

"Can I see him?" I ask, he looks at me with concern but nonetheless nods his head.

"...thank you" I say before heading off to the room Nakul was in.

I stood outside the door... putting my hand on it I can't seem to bring myself to just push... open the door... and face him...

I sighed closing my eyes. 'Nothing is going to happen... you won't let it! Nakul will achieve all his dreams everything is going to be fine but for that you need to go in there... you need to see him... help him! He needs you!' I think to myself finally building up the strength to open the door.

As the small wooden door creaks open I see Nakul; lying on the bed, eyes shut, breathing softly.

I let loose a breath feeling relief wash over me... he's really ok... as ok as he can be right now anyway.

I walk over to him making sure not to make any noise, sit down on the small stool beside his bed and smile slightly.

"Told you I won't let you go..." I whisper softly. My exhaustion and headache seem to disappear seeing him ok, breathing and alive.

His shoulder is wrapped in a white bandage. My hand hovers over it slightly not touching it in fear of hurting him... "I'm... I-... Nakul I'm sorry... I'm s- so" my voice breaks as fresh tears stream down my face.

I grab his hand getting down off my seat at eye level. "I know you won't let me apologize or cry or anything when you wake up... I need to be strong right now, I know that. B- but I messed up Nakul... I messed up again... and I'm- I'm scared..."

Nakul doesn't stir breathing still calm and settled, face relaxed.

"Don't hate me Nakul... please... I- I know I messed up but I'll fix it! I will! I promise Nakul, I promise you're gonna be just fine! You're gonna be the best swordsman in all of aryavrat... you're gonna be an amazing warrior and everything that you've dreamed of! I won't let my mistake take that away from you!"

"Everything will be just fine Nakul... you just need to wake up! We'll be fine!" I say getting back up and wiping my tears; "Just get up Nakul... I need you"

3rd Person POV

Vrushali sighed pacing the main hall of the small house. Dev had gone inside Nakul's room ages ago, it was dark now and he refused to leave him alone.

"What happened?" Karn says walking into the hall.

She immediately stops and looks at him worried; "He's still in there... I'm worried Radhey."
