Chapter 10

Dustin's P.O.V.

Ugh, what the hell is wrong with my head. God it hurts like hell and what the fuck is that beeping sound. My body feels sore and my eyes feel so heavy. It's hard to open them. The left side of my body feels warm and I think I hear a light snore. What.The.Hell! Where's Aiden?

I start to panic and I guess thrash about when suddenly I freeze as I hear his voice, "Hey, hey calm down baby please. It's okay." Oh God is that Jacob. "J-Jacob?", I rasp out as I open my eyes and adjust to my surroundings. Where the hell am I? "Where-re's A-Aiden?", I ask him in a panicked raspy voice. I'm gripping him hard now with true fear and that beeping sound is getting louder and faster.

Then everything just stops as Jacob lowers his lips to mine and just kisses me ever so gently and a sense of calm overcomes me. "Better?", he asks me with a smirk on his face. I nod my head yes because he has rendered me speechless. "Let's get you some water okay and then I'll explain what's going on. Calm down, Aiden's with Sky bonding and believe you me in the safest place on earth so please relax. I'm going to let the nurse know you're awake okay.", he explains.

I nod my head once again and sigh in relief. Why am I in the hospital? God what happened? The last thing I remember was getting ready for my date with Jacob in his house. As I try to piece my memories together, a nurse and a doctor walk in with Jacob in tow. "Hey Dustin, I'm Dr. Hemlock. I want to ask you some questions okay.", he says to me as the nurse starts to take my vitals and gives me a cup of water.

Jacob sits in a chair to my left quietly looking me over. "Dustin, what's the last thing you remember?", asks the doctor and I let him know my thoughts from earlier. "W-what hap-pened?", I ask and he responds, "You passed out, hit your head hard enough to have a mild concussion. Dustin, when was the last time you ate?" Oh God, oh God...I was remembering the pain before...

"Dustin, please answer the doctor.", Jacob says softly to me as he takes my hand and squeezes a bit. I look down at my lap. To my shame I can't look at anyone in the eyes. The tears start pouring out of me and a sob escapes my throat. "Nurse come with me. Let's give Dustin a chance to adjust. We'll be back in a bit okay.", I'm pretty sure he was addressing Jacob at this point.

As soon as the door closes, Jacob climbs into the bed with me laying on his side and as natural as breathing I turn right into him and mold my body to his and just let it all out. Every emotion I've held in is becoming a stain on Jacob's shirt. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I calmed down. As I nuzzle my face into his chest for comfort.

"Dustin I need to know what's going on. These past few days I've managed to piece your life together but I need to hear it from you.", he says. Wait, did he just say days... I look up at him with a questioning look. "Tomorrow will be two weeks. This is where I've lived waiting for you to wake up.", he stated with a bit of sadness.

I caressed his face and looked right into his eyes. "I promise, I'll explain everything just right now, I need you to kiss me, please...", I begged him and within the blink of an eye he crashed his lips onto mine hungry for me. I couldn't even catch my breath as I opened my lips for him and let Jacob devour me from the inside out. With every stroke of his tongue I felt like he was healing me to the core of my soul.

Jacob pulls back for some air and says, "Promise me that from this moment on you won't hide anything from me. That you'll tell me everything. I can't go another day being in the dark." I look at him and peck his lips gently. He sighs into my mouth and says, "Oh by the way, you and Aiden are moving in with me and don't even bother arguing because Sky has become pretty attached to him and the only way he's letting Aiden go is if his brother has a better option!"
