𝟐𝟗. 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞

     "MIKE WHERE ARE YOU? MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR LIKE, 10 MINUTES!" laila waited anxiously for mike to respond. "i'm on my way, i told you that i had to drop off my stuff after we got off the plane."

"i know but that should've taken like five minutes. hurry yo ass up cause my parents finna be pissed!" she hung up and returned to the dining room where her mom and dad whispered. "he's coming in a minute or so."

     a knock was heard on the door causing laila to storm out of her chair to answer it. "about time." she whispered to him. she held his hand and walked him to the dining room. "mom, dad, this is mike. you already met him a while back but, i wanted to tell you guys that we are dating." laila's parents stared at her with no emotion. "uh, the fu- i mean the hell is wrong with y'all?"

     "the hell? laila don't talk to me like that i'm your mom! you talk to yo friends like that you talk to me with manners. now, take a seat." laila's father let out an awkward smile which made laila confused. "okay now that everybody is here i wanted to ask if i could fly to jersey with mike to meet his parents."

     "how long will you be staying there?" "i'm thinking we fly in early like at, 3am? and spend the entire day there but come back home at night."

     "that actually sounds good." mike said. "i agree." her mother responded. "so mom in case you didn't know, mike here is really popular. his management has really helped him become more popular and he's been on tv, he's made a song, and eventually he'll be in a show."

       laila rambled on and on about how mike was talented which seemed to catch her father's attention. so far, laila's parents absolutely loved mike which was great. laila's rambling went on for about three hours.

        "i have to get going now." mike stood up and everybody walked him out. "pick me up at 3am?" he nodded before leaving. "i'm going shopping because i need to look nice for tomorrow."
