A FEW DAYS LATER

Insung had just pulled into the underground parking lot of King's Group headquarters after dropping Jihyun off at school. Just as he reached for the door handle to step out, his phone buzzed from the center console, the screen lighting up with Hyunbin's name. With a quick swipe, he answered the call, bringing the phone to his ear as he leaned back into his seat.

"Hey," Insung greeted. "You've been a morning person lately. What's up?"

"I know it's early," Hyunbin chuckled on the other end, "but I wanted to catch you before you got buried in work. Just making sure you haven't forgotten about this weekend."

"Of course not." Insung laughed softly, his fingers drumming against the steering wheel. "I've been there since you were hiding your relationship with Yejin. There's no way I would miss every bit of preparation for your wedding."

"Wow. Thanks for the reminder, man," Hyunbin said, laughing. ""But yeah, everything's set up at the beach. There's more than enough space for everyone. The women can do their own thing with Yejin, and we'll have the bonfire and drinks on the other side. It's going to be a good time."

"Taeyoung hyung would come as well, right?"

"Yeah, since Yoojin noona told us that Lohee and Lorin will come with them. You can also bring Jihyun over so they could play with each other."

"I'll inform Jihyo about that."

"But speaking of which—is there any chance Jihyo's coming? Yejin's been wondering, but I wasn't sure since she's still in Japan for that business trip."

He exhaled softly, leaning his head back against the headrest as he glanced out of the car window, watching as other employees made their way into the building. "Yeah, she's still in Japan," Insung said, the words tinged with a sigh. "She's got a lot on her plate and she told me she wasn't sure if she'd make it back in time for the party."

"That's a shame," Hyunbin said, his tone genuinely disappointed. "Yejin's really hoping Jihyo will be there."

"Yeah, I know... but work comes first."

Hyunbin hummed in understanding. "That makes sense," he said. "I hope she makes it though, we'll need Jihyo to help Yoojin there to balance things out."

Insung chuckled. "I'll let you know if she makes it back in time. But don't worry, I'll be there regardless."

"See you on Saturday, then."

After they hung up, Insung stayed in his car for a moment, letting the conversation sink in. He glanced at his phone again, debating whether or not to text Jihyo. He stared at his phone for a little longer before he typed out a quick message.

Insung: Hey, I just talked to Hyunbin... He's hoping you'll make it on Saturday. Any news on when you'll be back?

A few minutes passed before his phone buzzed with a reply from Jihyo.

Jihyo: I'll really try to be back before the weekend. I miss you so bad.

Insung smiled at the message, his chest warming slightly at the thought of seeing her again soon. He quickly typed out a reply.
