"Isn't she supposed to be in Japan?"

"She's here already?"

"Why did she come out from Mr. Jo's office?"

"Do you think something happened?" Another employee murmured. "I mean, why would she be in his office so early?"

"I don't know, but it surely looks suspicious," another reply came, the gossiping co-workers huddling closer together.

As Jihyo strode passed by the cubicles, all the murmurs circled back to the one thing that had the office go loud in commotion: her presence in Insung's office earlier. The soft, knowing smirks that exchanged between a few employees only served to add fuel to the rumors that were about to erupt.

As soon as Jihyo stepped inside her office, she let out a deep breath before she moved to sit down in the leather chair behind her desk, adjusting it so she was more comfortable, and immediately, her eyes went to the stack of paperwork waiting for her attention.

It wasn't long before her secretary, Hyemin, entered. "Good morning, ma'am."

Jihyo glanced up from the papers. "Morning," she muttered.

"I've arranged your schedule for the day. We only have the groundbreaking ceremony in Gangnam in the afternoon."

Jihyo nodded, already reaching for her phone. "And my luggage from Japan?" she asked.

"It's been sent ahead to Mr. Jo's house as you requested," Hyemin confirmed, her voice never betraying the curiosity she felt about the unspoken connection between Jihyo and Insung.

"Good," she said simply. "Anything else?"

Hyemin hesitated, as if debating whether to say something, but then continued, "Chairman Jo Jinhyuk stopped by earlier, but you weren't in your office. He didn't mention anything though, but he said it's personal."

Jihyo's lips pressed into a thin line at the mention of Insung's father. "Okay. I'll go to his office later." Jihyo said. "Is that all?"

"Oh, there was a package waiting for you." Jihyo's brow furrowed.

"From?" Hyemin shifted slightly before glancing down at the desk, where she had placed the package earlier.

"It's from Hoshida Corporation. Under the name of... the wife of the president..."

Jihyo's jaw clenched as she leaned back in her chair, forcing herself to calm her rising irritation. "Return it," she said. There was no hesitation, her emotions were still raw from their last meeting, and she wasn't about to let anything from Soojin back into her life... at least, by now. "Don't accept anything sent personally by Park Soojin unless it's for work."

Hyemin nodded as she made a note on her clipboard. "Understood, ma'am."

The moment Hyemin closed the door behind her, Jihyo let out a quiet sigh, her gaze falling back to the stack of papers on her desk. She cannot afford any distractions, she needed to focus and remind herself of her responsibilities. But as her eyes wandered across her office, they caught something unexpected as she saw her own reflection-a small mark on her neck, just beneath her collarbone.

For a moment, she blinked rapidly, unsure if what she was seeing was real before she leaned in closer to the reflection in the glass on the side of her desk.

She tilted her head slightly, trying to make sense of it. With a sigh, she leaned back in her chair, closing her eyes for a moment. "How will I be able to hide this now?" She groaned in annoyance.

She opened her eyes and stared at her phone as she debated sending Insung a message. But no-that wasn't like her. Instead, she just sent a message to her secretary.
